They say it smells like bacon too.

Bring back DEEEEP Space!

Which is beyond weird because it tastes like chicken.

There's real reasons why your Eve character doesn't do /dance.

The lack of physics understanding in this thread is huge.

Technically speaking g-force has nothing to do with gravity. a single unit of "g" is not smaller or greater in space, and it does not "create" a gravitational field. It is possible to emulate the *effects* of gravity with an acceleration that produces a g-force, but the mechanics of nature that cause that and real gravity are not the same.

g-force is just a way to quantify the ACCELERATION without using units. 1 g is always 9.806 m/s^2 regardless if you are in Iceland or in Charlie's candy mountain land. It is just a way to universally describe acceleration with an easy reference (comparing everything to earth standard surface gravity), and easy context (humans have maximum g limits), and without the confusion of different units in different countries. It has NOTHING to do with gravity other than being referenced from it.

Anything that accelerates at 19.6 m/s^2 will be at 2g. Anything accelerating at 29.4 m/s^2 will be at 3g. Period.

Acceleration produces stress in structures and therefore things like your brain have a limit on acceleration they can take before they turn into mush. Therefore, you can say they have a "g" limit.

On a side note, WHY DO SHIPS NEED TO BANK TO TURN? Airplanes bank for aerodynamic purposes. in space the effects of thrust are only based on the thruster location with respect to center of mass. One could argue that for some reason the designers of ships decided to put reaction control thrusters in crazy locations where in order to get the most optimal thrust vector the ship has to bank to turn, but that would be a terrible design choice I don't think anyone would make.

I'm not sure you have the credentials to use that name.

I'm not sure you're really posting from under a bridge. If that is in fact where you live though, I'm sorry.

Ships going thousands of meters per second bounce off of each other without damage. Kinetic damage doesn't exist in EVE (which means that kinetic damage weapons in EVE work on entirely different principles than what think of as kinetic damage.)

Also, billions of catgirls die when you try to bring physics into EVE[1].

We need more physics in eve then...

Estimating from the window sizes the arm of the ship appears to be about 2500 feet long.

I think you mean to say "2500 feet wide". Assuming that's the case, this chart (upper right corner) indicates that the width of the Catalyst is 284m or 932 feet.

Also, unless I'm somehow mistaken, the number of "passengers" in a Catalyst is one - the pilot.

A little mistaken. According to the lore, all ships, including capsuleer vessels, have at least a skeleton crew of engineers, loaders and maintenance staff.

Not all ships, frigates and shuttles can get by with just tbe capsuleer.

There is no need to understand physics, because it just works (TM).
