Ok guys, the Rokh is quite a sad boat to fly nowadays, 3 years ago and before hen it was pretty awesome with 425mm Railguns, but then the Railgun changes turned it into a piece of crap imo.

One of the issues with this boat is the fact that it has a sniping style bonus with a brawling style bonus.
The Second Issue is that Railguns just suck these days, sure the Medium ones are actually going to become pretty decent with the new changes coming but, the small and large railguns need attention. Imo they need the same treatment the mediums are getting.

So there are two solutions to fixing the Rokh:
The first one is remove the shield resist bonus for a Hybrid Turret Damage bonus, aswell as a buff like the mediums to large railguns.
The second one is remove the Hybrid Optimal Range bonus for Hybrid Turret Damage or Rate of Fire bonus.

So the bottom line is it needs to have a specific role, either it needs to become a Sniper like it always has been, or a Blaster Brawler. I personally want my Sniper Rokh back, and because of lore wise for the Caldari race being the users of Railguns and Gallente being the users of Blasters.

How do you guys feel aboat the Rokh and Small/Large Railguns?

So large rails are bad despite being used for more current fleet doctrines than any other weapons system? One of which also uses the rokh?

If you want a damaged bonused brawler get a mega or a hyperion, there is no reason to change the rokh into one as well. Its meant to be a mid range ship, meaning you can shoot out to decent range while still being able to take fire.

Also there is nothing stopping you sniping in your rokh, its just other things are better at it.

No. The Rokh has a dedicated role that it fills well right now. It is used, just not how you want to use it. If you want a high dps rail ship, fly a megathron or a navy Dominix. There is nothing wrong with Large Railguns, their DPS is in line with other long range guns. Where it falls short on damage, it makes up in tracking and range.

Only issue I see with rokh snipe doctrine is the speed of probing.

Even before the new mods probing (on or off grid) by a competent player could have lock quickly to set up warp to's. the new mods shaved seconds even off of this. Adds diffuculty to working sniper doctrine when your snipers are easy to find and get to. Some make it work ofc, but they probably get help from enemies who lack good probing some of the time.

OP's changes....what good is 2 "damage" bonuses if rokh still lacks tracking bonus. I am more about applied damage rather than theoretical for my outlook on rokh. Megathron fits te and tc to blap small crap. Rokh fits these to hit bs not moving in straight lines.

What has rokh rely on "sniper" doctrine is all way hell out the guns hit pretty good. harder to fake out tracking when you have to rush the rokh(s) and on grid warp not an option. Just be nice if rail rokh could have some balls when not at snipe range. Which bonus would I give up for this, man I vary on that. Or sometimes I like its bonuses as is and write off lack of tracking as the cost od doing business..

But all in all the hybrid fixing did the rokh alot of good I think. Haven't pvp'd the changes but in pve the cap use issue is better. If it has more endurance shooting rats I'd gather prolonged firing, like in a bash scenario, probably better now. I know before fix way back....it could be like neuting yourself with enough active mods turned on.

Yeah, certainly before the BS rebalance anyway.

Pretty much everything in the OP's first two paragraphs is entirely wrong. A couple of years ago the Rokh was poor, then rails got a bit more damage and it became a fleet doctrine. There is no conflict between its bonuses, and since that rails boost both small and large rails have been fine. It's a baffling post.

So when the railguns got their DPS, tracking, and cap use buffed, they turned the rokh into crap.

Yea, ok, makes total sense, I respect and value your opinion, yea sure.
