Well, my alliance just moved to a new region and we have a pretty awesome station with a clone bay. The only catch is all of the office space is at capacity, with most of these being corps that have been inactive for years.

Is there anyway to evict these corps? I have yet to find an active member in any of them, let alone a director or CEO.

That fact that they don't want to talk to you is not an indicator that they are inactive.

The fact that they continue to pay the bills in a full station is an indicator that they're active enough to retain the office.

You're looking in the wrong systems. My alt corp has four conveniently located offices throughout New Eden, and pays the grand total of 40k per month for all of them. They all have repair service, clone service, and ample manufacturing space, and are no farther than 5 jumps from major trade hubs. If you want super cheap rent, you're going to have to commute.

You have been able to set up auto pay for bills for quite a few years now so no, as long as the corp wallet has enough to cover the bills and auto pay was turned on (who dosent do this, seriously) then ya they will continue to be paid until the corp wallet gets too low.

if were just going to increase the amount of offices, why not just remove the office cap on stations period? oh thast right, because its first come first serve, you want them gone, either buy the office from them, or violence their assets until they have to close some offices to save cash. cant afford to do either of those? i dont think your corp has very much need of an office then

You also have the option of contacting the corporations currently holding up offices. If they truely no longer need the office you can probably find one who will part with it for some ISK.

Rent can be paid automatically from the corp wallet, so if someone stopped playing with say 20mil in the acc and had set the 29k rent on auto it's going to be paid for a looong time.

Maybe if the owner of the office hasn't logged on for say 6 months it should go back on the market, other games do this to stop a finite number of assets being effectively locked out of use by players who have effectively quit.

Maybe CCP could also look into ensuring that only plexed players can pay the rent as well.

…but again, if the rent is 29k, there will be plenty of space in that station or the rent will shoot up very quickly. A full station will see a rental increase of just over 300% per month.

e: Fun fact (note: might not be fun): a station that offered offices for 29k back when auto-payments were introduced, and which had been full even since, would have an office rental fee of 2,205,000,000,000,000,000,000 trillion ISK by now. P

Also, I'm bored.

Ninja'd by Tippia before I could reply.

I don't think OP really wants to pay rent in a full station, once he sees what the bill is.

Indeed. I was once paying 76mill/month for an office in N-DQ (Great Wildlands) and that wasn't maxed out. Was bad enough for a shithole like GW though Straight

Tough friggin luck...

If they are paying the bill it's their space. They were there first, move somewhere else and stop whining as though anyone owes you something...and if you "tracked me down" to beg for my space I'd tell you to get stuffed....

So go play one of those "other" games instead...

What is with the obsession of arguing against finite resources being available to active players? Is the older, more entrenched player base so afraid of new players? The guy above me uses that crap line of saying the OP thinks he's owed something, but he's arguing inactive players are owed the right to lock up resources. Arguing first come, first served only makes sense when the first guy is there, otherwise it's not that at all. You're arguing you're always first because you once were first. I understand that the entrenched players in this game are terrified of losing their status, but that just isn't a good reason to argue for the right of inactive players to hold finite resources. You guys would have flipped out if TEST could have defended their space by simply not logging in. And yet here you are, arguing that very point simply because it doesn't harm you today. Come tomorrow, when you find out some guy who hasn't logged in for a couple years is holding the only BPO of a ship you want, you'll be here crying like babies, claiming CCP intentionally gave him the BPO because they're helping "the other guys".

I think you misunderstand.
What people are saying is there's already protection for these finite resources. Rent in a station increases drastically if that station is full. So if the OP is at a station that really is full, then the people in that station will be paying a lot for it. So if they aren't active, it's doubtful they will be paying it for long.
Office rent increases by over 300% if the station remains full. That means that if a corp rented the last office, and it cost the minimum of 10000 isk, and they held it for 12 months, by the end of the 12 months, they would have paid 2.65b isk total, and their next bill would be 5.3b isk. 6 months later (18 month in) they would have paid 1.9 trillion isk total.
The point being that stations don't stay full for that long, and if it's full, you can be damn sure the majority of the people continuing to pay are either active, or will have a very sad look on their face when they next become active.

The OP has no way of proving the people currently renting are inactive, they are only guessing at that, and with what I presented above, and what other have said, you should hopefully be able to see that it's unlikely they really are.

If the corp that rents the office can continue to pay the bill each month, they have the right to it. It doesn't matter if the members log in, or not. If no one ever logs in and no one ever does anything to put money in the corp wallet, then one fine month that bill will not be paid, the corp hangar will be impounded, and the office will become available.

So there is indeed a limit to how long a truly inactive corp can hold onto an office. It's the size of their wallet when they leave.

How does one rent office space if one is in an NPC corporation?
