Previous post attempt ganked - fix forum posting already

Still looking for off switch for the jump animation. Find it distressing, slower and have you seen it under extreme TiDi? That's barf inducing for sure.

Can't wait to see the patch notes. Oh maybe I can. Because there's no word of any alteration of the warp visuals and the autoscan impositions. Ugh

Next expansion maybe we can have some more new nauseating and annoying stuff that wasn't necessary or optional. Straight

CCP, there are off buttons for ship explosions, missile effects, turret effects, etc. "Immersion" does not seem to be harmed by those. So, please give us a persisting off button for the jump gate and autoscan visuals.

Does anyone have any news about this?

I have just started playing yesterday, and this tunnel effect is an absolute deal-breaker to me. I get a very annoying headache and feel motion-sick from this.

If this is not fixed, I will have to cancel my just-started sub, which is very sad... Cry

From the latest patch notes:

 • Pre-jump camera movement has been smoothed out.
 • Post-jump camera movement has been slowed down, and the camera will only move post-jump if Tracking Camera is active.
 • Camera shake when jumping has been reduced.
 • Changes have been made to the field of view when jumping so it does not look like the gate itself is going with you in the jump, but rather that you are going through the gate.
 • Optimizations have been made to the jumping process that will result in smoother transition.

I have tried it on SiSi (on my other char), and it is just as horrendous as what we have right now on TQ.

Still a splendid headache trigger. Still gives me nausea.

The devs could have coded an "off" button in 1/10 the time it took them to tweak and re-code the animation. But no, can't do that. It is a "cop-out".

I have been waiting for 1.1 to see what they will do about it. It looks like I was right on the money.

This means -2 (minus two) accounts immediately, and minus one more in 4 months, when this sub runs out.
No, you can't have my stuff. I will simply biomass everything.

Some of you should go out more often and you might not get sick when you move....
The new jump animation is much better than just disappearing from one place and appearing in another.

This is a brilliant analysis, you should consider to elaborate on this.

i have a problem in lots of games with motion sickness, i am glad i dont get if from this specific animation, although if it becomes much smoother, it WILL start triggering it for me

primary triggers for me, are smooth movements i cant control, and motion blur, in any and all forms

smooth visual movements do NOT happen for me in real life, i actually have no way of keeping my eyes open while my head is in (sideways) motion: i blink, EVERY TIME,
while cars dont trigger it often, it's still often enough so that any place less then 30 minutes away walking, and there is no way i am getting into a car(as you may guess this leads to a ******** of walking)

for example on games: i cant play borderlands 2 for more then a few minutes before the room is all spinning
the recoil is messing me up, and i cant play that game at all because i cant turn it off

it's because my right ear is out of whack(also have very bad hearing on that ear), many of those "fancy smooth movements" make my sence of balance think it's actually ME that's moving, and not the image on the screen

i agree the animation is very pretty, and it IS better then what was before... for MOST people..
dont tell me some of you find it offensive somehow that a few people prefer to not watch it, for medical reasons?

No offense, but if they have worked on smoothing the camera swing that is indeed working on the issue...

We swing our cameras around quickly and wildly in space all the time with nary a complaint in 10 years.

Seriously thinking this whole thing is just trolling the Devs.

Its not the same when you have control of the camera. Sorta like not getting motion sickness when you are in the drivers seat.

Please ccp lets have some real help here already.

Is there supposed to be some kind of improvement with this in Odyssey 1.1?

It pretty much looks the same to me.

It is the same. The EXACT same, and they've already said that to give us an off or fade to black option would be a cop-out.

Eve is a 3rd person view experience, and the gameplay and mechanics are built around that 3rd person view. It's disconcerting to the eyes when that view is abruptly changed as your camera is violently swung around to a first person view. It's not cool, and its NOT fun.

IMO, the animation sucks. It's like I'm being shuttled to the next system though a necrotic intestine, as if Gabriel's Trumpet is somehow producing me from the ass of an undead pig...

Anyway... we spoke up for 60+ pages, that's all we could do.

Mods- it's clear that CCP is going to stay the course on this, so I think you can lock this thread.

In-game sounds muted since Retribution, F10 Jumper since Odyssey

I have noticed that the animation has been smoothed out, but it is still a chore to watch. I totally walk away from the game for anything over 5 jumps. Before the animation was introduced I would actually sit through a higher number of jumps either manually or on auto and enjoyed it a little as I would fit a couple of salvage mods on my ship and salvage wrecks I saw at the gates. I no longer do this because I'm more concerned with getting to my destination "faster" so I can get the animations over with.

Internet tough guy much?

Please explain how the extra checkbox will affect YOUR gameplay. No, really. I want to hear that.
Note - we are not talking about game balance here, just some nauseating eye candy.

And the "off" button is sorely needed. The "new" animation still makes me sick.

I don't suffer any ill effects from the jump animation, but if it's anything like the nausea I get from most first-person shooters, then I know it's got to suck and I empathize.

This isn't really a HTFU situation. It's just the way some people work. I've played through it for games I've particularly enjoyed, but there's no getting over it, in my experience (though in at least some games, changing the FOV to around 90 degrees seems to alleviate the problem).

There doesn't appear to be a practical gameplay advantage or disadvantage that warrants forcing the effect on all players. CCP should introduce an option to use the old jump animation or an appropriate substitute. It's a matter of basic customer service.

Please allow us to turn it off, or fade it to black, or whatever.

Why is there a need to compel some customers to get motion sickness?

I had 4 accounts. Two that were coming due for another one year subscription I just cancelled, after I consolidated the characters I wanted to keep onto the other two accounts. $100 bucks as opposed to $260.

My remaining accounts come due for another one year payment in December and February. I certainly hope I will not be cancelling those. But my play time keeps decreasing. And if there is not on/off button for the shitt nausating gate visuals and the pita autoscan clutter up my screen with ******* in the way color diamonds, info boxes, and tron in space, then the next two will not be resubbed.

No one will be getting my stuff. Eventually they will fix this. They will have to. But until they do they are losing money from me and I bet from other people as well.

CCP, there are off buttons for ship explosions, missile effects, turret effects, etc. "Immersion" does not seem to be harmed by those. So, please give us a persisting off button for the jump gate and autoscan visuals.
