My favs are....

Condor...good Light Missile kiter
Slasher...fun little ship to fly
Merlin...double web brawl fit
Cald Navy Hookbill...double web Rocket brawler
Rapublic Fleet Firetail...fast and fun...kinda like my Slasher

Any frigs or dessies can be good...it takes trial and error, and what you like to fly.

Once you realize what a joke everything is, being the comedian is the only thing that makes sense.

Im more a missle person at the moment but trainging into hybrid turrets cause they seem to be favoured in the pvp fits.
Was thinking of a Talos if I can get a logi on me. But so many choices.

Everyone is always repeating the mantra "Don't Trust Anyone" ad nauseum... If I can't trust the guys I play with, why bother playing with them at all? Fly Solo...

pick something cheap.
fly it again and again until you learn what it can and can't kill and how it can be fit and flown.
avoid anything expensive until you stop making multiple errors every fight.

There is no "best" race for PVP. They all do different things. Missiles are useful in that their ships are often good at dictating range and so despite the lower DPS you can apply it across all ranges, whereas hybrids can apply facemelting DPS only if they actually land a tackle.

And a talos with logi will die pretty easily anyway. And then your logi dies too. It's personal preference really, just try to avoid Amarr as much as possible Blink

While frigates are no doubt the cheapest ships to lose they are often pretty unforgiving for a newbie.
It's usually one mistake and you are dead, a fight can be over in mere seconds.
While this is very challenging and fun, I'd recommend to start with a cruiser first. They are quite cheap, too, but give you somewhat more margin for errors. The Rupture is awesome for newbies, but any "Combat" cruiser will do (Rupture, Moa, Maller, Vexor).

You will find that most of the more experienced cruiser pilots favor the faster "Attack" cruisers (Stabber, Caracal, Omen, Thorax) over the Combat cruisers, but kiting with an Attack cruiser is much more difficult for a newbie than just brawling it out with the tankier Combat cruisers.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

Unless you have billions lying around don't learn in a Talos. Stick to frigates and destroyers to start with. In the beginning you will be focusing on staying safe; picking the fights you want and avoiding the rest. Personally I recommend an MSE fit Kestrel. Saves you having to worry about tracking, active tank and cap.

But honestly any frigate or destroyer will do. Get a stack of at-least twenty and lose them all. In time you will find what you enjoy flying and learn what ships tend to counter each other.

Good luck!
