Just looked at the sov map..

I been living in a WH for quite some time... decided to leave. Went to check out null and i looked at the sov map and what is up with all these tiny alliances all over? If i never heard of the alliance is it a good chance they are a renter alliance?

Also is everyone renting since the moon change to make up the isk?

If you have never heard of the alliance, chances are it's affiliated with one you have heard of.
If, say, you look at Nexus Fleet and think "huh, haven't heard about them, they might be renters", you'd be making a mistake. Same, looking at Nothern Associates. and thinking "I've heard that name before, they're big, must be a real PvP powerhouse", you'd be wrong too.
EDIT: Not that renters can't PvP, or won't attempt to kill you if you hang out without blue standings. More commonly they are also in it for money/resources and aren't dedicated PvP corps. /EDIT.


So, is there a good chance of renters based on name recognition? No.
The dead giveaway, if you look at e.g. Northern Associates., is that the alliance desc. has rental managers.
If it doesn't have rental managers, it's probably not a rental alliance.

As for renting vs. moons, well the big change is that it now also applies to technetium moon owners.
That's the big difference. If you had more than a couple of constallations before, and no technetium, you either rented them out or was in ProviBloc (Simplified version).
