I havent seen it yet :( last i heard was they needed to do a sit down on how to handel mechanics that involve or require DTs. Asteriod growth could be handeled in a decent manner but a outpost out of an egg would look odd going POOF !"Im a station now." On both a database and graphical sense.

DT takes nowadays less than 15 min. It is not any issue anymore for most ppl. Furthermore, after the dt, it gives you a time frame to avoid gate camps when ppl is still logging back in.

Why don't people get the problem with DT? With DT you can't organise any fleet operation or fleet has to dispand with DT coming up. For people in the DT hitting peak play times this is a major problem. Its not the length of DT its the fact DT happens EVERY night. DT could be 5 min for all I care. Its the fact you have to stop everything your doing and start again.

If it wasn't for down time I would never get to go to the super market on days off; hence we would starve to death :)

I usually use this time right after DT to move expensive stuff in my covert transport and things like that to minimize the risk. Smile

DT is about 10 mins atm, which is one hell of a technical achievement. Excellent work CCP, keep it up!

So in England and chunks of Europe it goes down duing business hours. Excellent!

In the EST time zone where I am, it goes down at roughly 6am. Also Excellent!

I am pretty ok with this, tbqh

Also its only a half hour, and seems even shorter lately. Not a lot to complain about.

Thanks heaps Bhaal, thats what I was doing wrong. Silly me. Will definitely take that into consideration and magically organise people to not log off for an hour with DT coming up. Great Idea. :)

DT is now less than 10 min long (8-9 min). While it's a big improvement, I hope hear from CCP that DT will be killed soon(tm).

Since downtimes are often under 10 minutes, I think they're making pretty good progress on this.

DT need not be more than a minor inconvenience. Your voice comms don't stop working, after all. If your fleets take more than 5 minutes or so to reform after being interrupted by DT, then you need to get better at organising people.

According to the Devblog, a year ago we would have soon a 5 min only DT. I expect them to do better. Let's see if the awesome winter expansion brings us more improvements on this.

LOL.

They are about 4-5 five minutes away from 5 minute DTs and yet you expect them to do better? Seriously, the technical challenges on doing a single instance world and keeping it stable and working probably take a lot of effort and continuous updating to keep doing so. Being a QQ-bear about 8-9 minute DTs and complaining about them promising something from the dev blog? How much have they not promised in the dev blogs that haven't been implemented (no offense though, I quite like CCP and EVE), but complaining about something as minor as taking a **** break is just childish.

You seem to still to not understand me. How do you organise people who don't want to stuff around and come back with DT coming up, especially when there will not be any targets for a couple of hours after DT. Further, I don't get why people who are not negatively affected by DT don't like when people who are negatively affected DT want the problem fixed. If DT doesn't affect your game play thats awesome, whats it to you if people don't want any more DT. ESPECIALLY when CCP have already said they are planing on getting rid of DT FFS!!!!! Its not like we're asking something that is impossible, CCP have said that is there plan.
