new caldari skins are too dark

You make the game darker with the new nebulae lighting and then also darken the new textures?

I'd like to see my ship not an obscure blob, this is a video game fire and foremost not a NASA simulation.

Made some shots so you can see what Ive meant:

new navy scorp vs old
the new skin is so "pixelled" I dont like it

eagle+basilisk

sith ferox vs tq ferox

ferox with caldari navy cloak fitted

oh the new market icons

I understand most of you like darker tones ( me too) but can't see sh*t is not = with that
we could just watch a black box and couldnt notice the difference.

All shots made an hour ago, only sizes were altered same setup for tq and sisi, the sisi system is the testing one the tq system is where I have my ships. I tried to shot similar sides of the ships for both versions. You can clearly see that the sisi versions are much much darker.

They look ok in stations, but in space you can't see anything.

And it's not just caldari ships, that happens for everything.

It may be intentional that you can't see your ship.

Too dark textures? Can't see your ship? The NEX store has new skins for you, so you can actually see your ship! Only 44.99$!

If you were actually piloting one of those things, would you be thinking, "Damn I hope my homies can see how badass my boat looks?" Or would you want them to not be so obvious on the screen so you have less chance of being spotted by pirates and the like?
OK, Tyrone. Put down the spinners. Think.
The V3 textures are fine.

oh yes cause you would look out the window to spot enemy ships, possibly many tens kms away, instead of use your high tech sensors
+ most ships are lit out due to windows and some lamps +engine ,completly negating any advantage a paintjob could give
so pls think ...

I always disliked all the grayish of Caldari hulls. New hulls are much better imho. I love the black trim on almost all ships.

QFT. Consistency is a very welcome thing, and the lighting (as in, the flashy light things on the ship) help a lot for those of us running their their monitors a little dark.

We'll have to see what the end result is, but lightening the current models too much will make them look grey and generally icky.

While I like to fly-by-wire, I know several pilots who don't. This would force them to, which is a little more realistic.

But it's just dark grey! Ugh

you are either colorblind or your monitor has problems. it is definitely a perfect mix of (very tame) green paint with tiny amounts of gold detailing

Like the ferox , on tq it is nice and shiny on sisi it is just a black grayish blob, you cant see a thing on it.

I agree. I actually just complained about the same thing in another thread, with pictures to illustrate:

I understand that EVE is supposed to be a 'dark' universe and all that, but doesn't anybody else think this is going too far?

Is it this dark for everyone else? Is the lighting and shaders and whatnot still a work in progress for the new skybox and ship textures?

Visual readability has taken a nose dive. In the screenshots on the far left the Drake has become an amorphous blob that blends into the station in the background. When flying in space the ship is a silhouette when viewed from the shadowed hemisphere, and even when viewed from the side that is hit by the sun it is still very dim. That particular nebula is also so intense it will overpower anything else in the scene. Basically everything is fighting against the traditional rules of visual hierarchy.

I might as well bring up the camouflage textures for the navy ships here also, since they produce the same problem. They are reducing readability. They make the ships look like mush. Its bad art design.

A camouflaged ship is hard to see?

Holy ****, that's totally unexpected!

I suppose we should remove all sound effects as well. Realism is more important than presentation after all.

I like the new darker look.

They look more like spaceships now and not like textured grey blobs of polygons.

I like the new ones a lot better then the old. Its space, its dark so things should be hard to see. If you notice when passing a nebula or planet your ship picks up the light and is much easier to see.

CCP has done a very good job and making the ships react to the space around them. I say that choosing to believe that this was there intenion.

If you have to see you're ship to play, then every system has a nebula in space somewhere, every system has a sun, planets. Embrace the camera and turn it around.

But I for one, like the fact Eve is now Dark and scary.

Don't ask about Italics, just tilt your head.
