Delete threads when the sale has finished... or at least make people change the title to (SOLD).
Seriously, give mods a button they can quickly click to add a "SOLD" tag to threads. Or give players the option to vote a thread "finished" and when enough votes are taken the thread says "SOLD".

Cool story, bro.

When Bon Scott died and he appeared before St. Peter at the gates of Heaven, St. Peter looked at his record and told him he couldn't get in. Just then, God screams at Peter, "Let him in, Karen Carpenter is driving me nuts. I want to hear some music with balls. We'll haggle over the paperwork later." At least I hope that's what happened.

The threads are there for reference, they should not be deleted.

So you are searching for a Moros pilot find results but don't bother to read that every single one has been sold then feel the need to necro the thread?

Searching for a Gallente pvp pilot in general (with decent drone skills) and it is ridiculously difficult due to the messiness of the character bazaar.

Click the little flag, report the thread saying the character was sold, please lock. Eventually they'll lock them.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Recruiters search those threads to find out if characters have changed hands in the past. Its an archive. HTFU.

The mods don't mess around with those threads unless a rule is being broken simply because it's where a buyer and seller can settle any issue that may arise during the transaction.

The entire character sale process needs a rework - character transfers should only be for consolidating accounts. Character sales shouldn't use that function, but something more like the secure ETC transfer.

You're awesome. That site should be stickied at the top of the Bazaar.

Indeed, it would be nice if it could be migrated over to the in-game contracts system instead.

Since a lot of people like to delete the information once sold, could you possibly put in a link to eve-search for the same thread in the search results?

Eh, it needn't be that complicated. Just a section in account management where I enter the character name of the buyer and an ISK amount. The buyer logs into account management and hits accept. The ISK is removed from his wallet, the seller chooses a payment method to finalize the sale and gets the ISK into the wallet of a character on their account. Either party should be able to cancel the process at any point prior to the seller finalizing the transaction.

This prevents all of the nonsense that arises from buyers panicking and filing petitions when the seller doesn't initiate a character transfer within 5 minutes after the ISK and account name are sent. Login names would no longer need to be shared. It would also reduce character sale related GM workload substantially. Like I said, the current character transfer process should only be for players to move characters between their own accounts, i.e. consolidation.

I'm not developer of that site so it would be better if you ask in feedback thread https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=3026986 Blink

That is true, moving it in to the contracts system (with a suitable GUI) would make it possible to introduce proper search as the live character sheet would be available without the need of third party sites like eveboard. Also with contracts we would get rid of the bazaar from the forums to start with as it is a terrible solution with the current limitations.

So in addition with the new shiny GUI all that is really needed in addition to the current contract backend is to introduce offers where you can put up a x amount of isk for a set amount of time, say 50b B/O for 5h. At that stage the isk is pulled from the buyer and only is returned after the time expires or the seller click reject. That way you get rid of all the time wasters that will offer a B/O just to retract it a few hours later.

An extra benefit is that you then can offer items in addition to ISK as part of the trade.

no doubt, the character market must be in game.

but characters should have an annotation on their corp history marking the moment they changed accounts, should the bazaar be removed. as it is now, the bazaar post is extremely important, and losing it with no replacement can lead to tons of abuse.
