So when about half the playerbase trades in their PS3's for store credit towards a purchase of a PS4 at their local game stops. What will happen than? . All of this has happened before (Nov. 2006) and will happen again.

Don't worry, CCP will probably just build another FPS for an even more niche platform..

Oh, wait..

It will revive when ported for PC's and Macs.

Relax.

There might be a problem with revival because PCs already have Blacklight, Planetside, MW, APB Reloaded and upcoming The Division, Destiny, Firefall MMO shooters - and they are damn good (if not great).

So if everyone is looking to upgrade, maybe I can get my hands on a dirt cheap PS3 just to play dust on it Blink

Why should this stop CCP ? When EVE was created there was an abundance of MMO's.

Did the existence of a flooded fast food market prevent the creation and success of Five Guys ? Or Taco Bell, Chipotle ?

I think we can blame the existence of masochism for the success of this particular venture.

I would disagree but for their eventual introduction of Dorito Shell Tacos.

But you can thank them for the necessity of really soft toilet paper, true masochists however will use Izal toilet paper (used to be common in UK schools in the 70's and 80's, most of it ended up being used as tracing paper)

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I'm not sure about this, since I'm not a console gamer, but I thought that Sony started to make their gaming consoles backwards compatible by at least 2 generations, so that you could still play some of the older games.

I quit gaming on consoles, way back in the mid 90's when all of my Nintendo games (over $200.00 worth) were suddenly worthless and unusable when my old system died, and the new system wouldn't support them (I think they were the old 16 bit cartridge games). People were leaving console gaming in droves because of it. So, Sony finally started making game consoles backwards compatible for at least 2 generations. No?

If it's the case, then wouldn't Dust 514 be supported on the new system?

Watch this space.  New exciting signature in development.

The game was in Alpha when it was in Beta and the game was in Beta when it was finally released.

I tried really hard to like it but it's honestly just a godawful game. Horrible gunplay, all the vehicles drive like they are on ice, and the lag is so bad that it makes the game unplayable.

Honestly, I won't be getting either next gen until one of them suits my taste. For one, I'm never going to want or use Kinect, so MS can get rid of that. For another, there's just nothing on PS4 right now that makes me want one. The only upcoming games I'm interested in are GTA 5 and Destiny, both of which are being released on 360. I would be interested in Halo 5 and Forza 5, but then we're back to the "Xbone" still being bundled with Kinect, and I'm not spending my money on something I just don't want.

As for DUST, I quite enjoy it. Don't play it very often, it has its problems, one of the biggest for me being repetitiveness, but that's why I don't play it very often. For a free game, eventually you've gotta admit that you get what you pay for. So yeah, I do quite enjoy it.
