Taxed for a Margin Trading Order that Failed

Okay, I /have/ to complain about this.

I was scammed by something called a Margin Trading Scam two nights ago. Having realised that this scammer had set up an order in another system for the same item, I felt obliged to ruin his/her scam, since I already had the item in question in stock.

However, upon that person's failed order, I realised I had just been charged 26M isk in "Market order commission" for the failed order, purely because the game mechanics are set to create a sales order if that person's origiginal buy order fails.

Okay CCP. Enough with the "turning a blind eye" towards player scams. When you, yourselves, have a system set in place where-by a player is not only scammed, but robbed by the server, then that /has/ to be brought into question.

Remember that some folks (myself) are (were) using /real world money/ to finance their n00biness.

I feel compelled to ask that the current /scammer friendly/ system be changed. I /do not/ deserve to pay for something that "poofed" into thin air.

I would like to receive an official reponse on this, if you wouldn't mind.

Kindly;
/Englebert

I think this is caused by the player using advanced mode when doing trades. If you use the simple mode, a sell order won't be created. I guess the game assumes you're looking to sell those items at that price point and not just looking to fill one specific order.

This is how the system is set up:

Alternatively you could have simply not tried to fill his entire order in which case the market tax would have been at or close to zero.

Scams of various sorts are part of the Eve landscape, many have been made harder to pull off over time through various game mechanics changes but scamming as a whole is part of Eve as much as the spaceships and the fleet fights.
