New Capital Class - Mothership

So, with the Eve-Lore story events are getting developed, I do feel that there will be a massive Minmatar - Amarr tension is going to happen.. I recall the devs said that the next ingame event will be resulted according to the playerbase..

Right, the thing I am wondering..is, do you think we will get to see a new capital class ship?..I mean..Minmatar suppose to be working on the Project:Skymother for quite sometime..which is not a Titan class, nor a Supercarrier, according to the lore..

https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Project_Skymother

Project Skymother was undertaken by the Minmatar corporation Core Complexion, with assistance from Six Kin Development, to develop a new ship based on ancient technology researched by Dr. Chieran Kenitawri and his team during Chieran’s lifetime. The ship developed is of unknown classification, contains jump drives, and was of such size that only a small portion of it could be viewed at a time from a shuttle viewport.

Opinions?

Eventually yeah.. (if ccp ever decides to introduce ofc)

I miss the mysterious news and gossips about Titan sightings back 6-7 years ago..or breaking news when they get destroyed...Now theyre just common news heh.

Heres a spoiler:

Supercarriers were known as motherships before CCP realized the concept was meaningless.

It has been made clear that the current supercaps, were "not" delivering the role of a mothership. That is why they changed its named, and focused it to anti-cap warfare...so the "Mom" role is currently reserved for something else i suppose.

Isn't the sansha super carrier considered to be a mom still?

Are we really that 'hard up' for something that ensures even more penis envy than Titans?

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

It's just natural mmo power creep. The new endgame pilot content to replace titans.

Bad idea... Within a week of release there would be no moons left. T2 production would stop and eve wouldbe a very boring place.

yeah we need another ship class that will be useless . Now that titans are mostly used for bridge next 1 what will it can do ? bridge more far?

i would love to see capitals actually become cheaper so more people would fly them and actually pvp more ofter

As a mother-ship implies that it is larger and thereby able to field more fighter bombers than a super carrier. If anything can field more bombers than a super cap why use capital fleets at all?

would be interesting if battles in eve were more like the battles you see in movies and stuff. 2-3 cap ships, 10-12 battleships, 20-25 cruisers 30-50 frigates, and one giant honking ship of doom. However that is only wishful thinking.

I'd think a mothership to be like a mobile station, with docking, repairs, medclones, maybe manufacturing, etc.

Mother ships were noble repair stations. They still are. They aren't combat boats. If you have a corp. I would quickly build some and roam the low sec gates

The Jove stations are most likely their remaining motherships; there were three, and two can be found in Jove space. Supercarriers were originally called motherships, so...
