Deadspace Weapons?

It would be nice to see the Deadspace modules expanded to include weapons. There needs to be something beyond T2/Faction in the small, medium and large range (or at least small and medium, as officer does cover large).

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

i agree +1

ive always wondered that. and why cant the officer weapons (since they are modified) use t2 crystals?
you would see ALOT more on pew ships if they did...

i know i had some brokara (sp) mega pulse on my paladin and they shredded. close range only because of no scorch, but anything in range was hurt badly.

we need a better selection

That's a really good question, and I agree - officer modules should be able to use T2 ammunition. I also think Faction and (potentially) Deadspace weapons should be able to use T2 ammunition as well, because they still lose out on the specialization bonuses.

I'd be fine with Deadspace ammo, too.

Because in the grand idea of balance, faction/deadspace modules and ships (where applicable) are straight improvements on T1. T2 is for specialization, hence your specialized ships (e.g. Taranis) and ammo (null, void, etc.).

Incidentally, T3 is for customization, by CCP's current design.

A "straight improvement" over T1 for Deadspace modules might be a bit of an understatement... Guess we need Deadspace ammo.

Deadspace ammo I could sort of see.

Rename DG ammo to pithor as an example, let it drop from DG rats at a significantly increased rate over now. Perhaps make it a LP store item? (extremely hard to balance IMO this is not meant to be stuff you can just casually walk up and buy)

As an incentive to use (or buy) this stuff it could have secondary characteristics like T2 ammo but in a different way. WIth fewer types of deadspace ammo over faction you could look at something like...

Pithor Uranium: This advanced pirate ammo uses sophisticated magnetic field technology to create an EM burst upon impact. 25% EM 25% Thermal 50% kinetic damage.
Pithor tungsten: This advanced pirate ammo uses a tungsten tipped explosive round that cavitates upon impact. 65% kinetic, 15% thermal, 20% Explosive.

Just as examples.

Some Deadspace damage modules wouldn't hurt, either.

Time to resurrect this... in lieu of the new quarterly update feature for EVE, can we finally start looking at some more powerful Deadspace weapons? DPS is not a bad thing! Everything from weapon controllers and upgrades to small to medium-sized (and possibly large and capital?) weapon systems. They should fall somewhere between current Faction and Officer abilities, and enhance the medium set (for which there is nothing currently more powerful than Faction). And Officer weapons should be able to use T2 ammo if so desired.

If they offered a distinct advantage over t1 and faction while not taking away the specialzation of T2 I could get behind them.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

Of course. More powerful, more expensive. Still above Faction but below the highest Officer equivalent. Example: A Gistum series of ballistic controllers that does 13%, 13.5% and 14% damage (10% ROF) while the Pithum series perhaps does 11%, 12% and 12.5% rate of fire instead (10% damage).

It would not necessarily need to be increased damage it could be better tracking, optimal/falloff, larger charge capacity, or easier fitting requirements.

No Deadspace Ammo - Faction is enough. We don't need Pith A-Type Phased Plasma L.

Deadspace Guns. I don't think those would be a great addition and if they ever were added they should by no means be able to use T2 Ammo.

Officer Guns using T2 Ammo is okay.

My Condor costs less than that module!

Officer weapons able to use T2 ammo is actually a pretty nice middle ground. The gun itself requires T1 skills, but T2 ammo requires specialization. So it'd be a hefty sum to put down while training a particular gun size, but it rewards you for the purchase by allowing you to apply your specialization skills later.

This is good for people flying more expensive ships, which means I can sell more stuff. I approve of this plan.
