Be advised.. gankers have a new tactic.. (might be old tactic, I been deployed and only recently got back)

A 700 dps gal destroyer...

Fit your ships accordingly to defend yourself (Ken/Therm)

its a nasty bugger.. caught me off guard.. ive learned and adjusted

WB! Looks like a cookie cutter ganker to me. There are 2 basic tactics to tank the gank. My personal preference in HS is to undercut the tank. Fly a retriever that is so cheap you can have 3 of them lined up in your hanger. It costs the ganker about as much time and isk to gank it as he earns. Sorry, i dont have specific data.

There other approach is to sacrifice some yield in order to acheive sustainable tank. There are alot of good builds out there. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=216981&find=unread .

If you want to be super safe, the skiff is by far the best choice.

Good luck and Fly Safe!

ive went with the option to sacrifice yield for survivability and drastically increased my tank with passive/active hardeners .. and since I fly with a couple friends... 2 hulks, 1 orca... we run rep drones on each other as well... its working.. so far.. had a couple jump in.. apparently scan us then jump out

I had a conversation with one of them in local one day after I had bounced off two planets and back to the same belt. :)

They frown on miners that harvest the whole belt or take too much from the belt at one time. However they have told me that they will gank me to teach me a lession that I should not take too much from the belt. ???

I do not bother talking with them, they usually try and talk trash.. I ignore them.. (oddly enough, ignoring them irks them quite a bit at times)

Telling them how much I would lose and how much more I have to mine to make it back is one to get them going as well.

Confirming that we are monitoring this thread.

And confirming that I need to train a Thrasher gank pilot for disposing of unwanted miners that understand kinetic/therm resists.

All the fits you need for tanking industrials. It reads like a menu, pick what looks good to you, what you qualify for, and what you can afford, fit it, and your golden.

A T2 fit Catalyst used for suicide ganking is nothing new. I'm not sure why there are T2 drones on there though as there wouldn't time for drones to attack during a suicide gank.

You don't say what you are flying but if you were in a Hulk or Mackinaw with a 'proper' tank fitted a single T2 Catalyst would not succeed in taking you down. For some suicide gankers currently the ISK cost to them is of no concern and up to seven T1 fit Catalysts are being used to take down one mining vessel. You're best weapon is good location/s and good local intelligence with your eyes kept peeled. Smile

or you could just move a few jumps out and nobody is going to even bother looking at you, meaning you don't need to sacrifice yield, or cheap ships.

it's amazing that people would rather earn less isk/hour than move a few jumps over.

Mine in a mega, fitted fully with lasers, expanders, expander rigs and a shield tank in the mids.
When they arrive, tell them your fit.

My only free tip. If you are in a group, don't fly the shiniest target. We seem the be the greedy bunch. I love seeing hulks pop myself. Twisted

I am just here to snuggle and do spy stuff.

What makes you think that miner euthanists do not hunt from system to system?

I have four preferred systems in Sinq Laison, but have no hesitations travelling to seven others that I can think of now and often do so. And that's just in one region.

Especially in a boat that no longer has a drone bay since it's been rebalanced.
