Caldari ships for exploration...

Are there any decent Caldari ships for an all-in-one exploration setup outside of the Tengu? I know I can just get a heron or some such frig to scan down sites then come back in a more adequate ship for combat sites but would prefer something that's a bit less of a hassle.

Right now I use a Vexor which does well enough, but I would like a shield tanked ship that would do a similar role.

The Drake is pretty nifty for this role.

High/low/null?

High a Cerberus will do the trick just fine. In low I'd prefer to be in a Tengu, but a Cerb will again deliver. Post-patch Nighthawk will do well too, what the pair of utility highs.

Null, you're really looking at a Tengu.

Yeah this will mainly be for high/low.

Cerb sounds good, actually been interested in trying one after giving the HAC changes a look on F&!. Guess I just need to finally break down and train Caldari Cruiser 5. =P

Never don't train Cruiser 5.

This. Cruiser V is one of the most versatile skills in the game, some races are better than others, but with recent changes I'd say every races Cruiser V is valuable.

Cerb works fine (cloak is not that needed ini low) - also, dont discount the Navy Osprey - especially outside of areas where the Kinetic bonus to the other Caldari ships is a detriment.

The Navy Osprey hits out to good range with heavies, has a utility high, is fast, has a small sig and has a very versitile slot layout.

Edit: it also does not have the fitting issuees the Cerb has

If you want a shield-tanked ship with a similar role to the Vexor, then the Gila is the way to go.

If you got decent drone skills, use a gila. Don't use a cerb as you sacrificing dps to fit probe..
