As a newer pilot to FW I've started a Youtube video series chronicling my FW adventures. Some videos on my channel are howto's also to try to help out some of the newer players. The focus of my videos is to help pilots understand faction warfare, show how it can make your EVE experience fun and exciting. All this while also keeping true to chronicling my FW adventures.

Here is a link to the first video in the series FW EP 1

Keeping with the rules of this post I'm unable to link or post some of my other videos on my channel. Be warned some of them may contain profanity, but nothing excessive.

Hope everyone enjoys the videos! Fly safe!

+1 for derptron and Deen Wispa FC. Try to talk with a little more enthusiasm, you sound like Ior from Winnie the Pooh, at least in the first video.

That is my excited voice Lol I Like to speak clearly and comprehensible to make sure there is no confusion with the info I'm giving. To some this may sound boring, but I like to produce my videos in a professional manner. Next video I make I'll TRY to sound more like a soccer commentator and less like mountain man.

Once again, thank you all for the supporting the videos!

Not a bad intro to logi, but I'd maybe have liked a mention that you were over-repping. Had you communicated with fellow logi/felt how many reps it was taking to hold someone up, you could have baited with their tank a little to help keep the enemy focused on them and easy your overall workload, while also encourage the enemy to take on similar logi numbers in future with the impression they could out-right break it.

Also, cap management didn't seem to be an issue for the specific fit you showed. Adjusting the chain via comms/a logi channel of people writing they're jammed could be for a 2nd coverage.
Also ECCM & overheating different racks (e.g. AB to tank, combined with more manual piloting). Maybe mention the potential disruptive power of damps, scripted either way, and preventative positioning.
As a T1/intro vid, the only other thing I can think of is to mention the dirt cheap 3% remote rep cap reduction implants, iirc you can get a bunch of them for less than 1 million isk all together.
And T2 scimi/oni might look to also enabling mindflood via the Biology skill.

I completely agree with you! It's nice to see someone who knows their stuff. The goal in the video however was to keep it simple. My videos are made for vets (we can always use a refresh) and novices alike, but I like to take care and explain things. Think of this video almost as logi 101 where we just cover some basics. I wanted to make a nice logi video, but keep it palatable for everyone. No one, well maybe some like you or me, wants to sit down and watch a 2hr how to logi video Blink

FW series of videos are to be tied to gather and watched as a series. Through out it, I hope, views and I will grow and become better pilots. There will be more logi videos to come, but as for this video I wanted to give everyone something to chew on.

Understood, and why I tried to split out the suggestions for this 101 vid vs those for future ones.
Maybe you shouldn't have use the scram-fit logi footage? Blink

I was going to say maybe refer budding logi pilots to some classics like RnK's Clarion Call series to see a T2/pro logi in action, then wondered how much of the mechanics & UI have changed that they might just confused people. Thinking aggro flags, overheating interface & fleet interfaces, even the simple viability of T1 logi cruisers in the meta.
I wouldn't discount logi frigs either.

Nice talk-through of the tengu teamwork kill btw. Why they didn't burn off-grid while aligned so as to warp the moment the long-pointers weren't sharing grid I don't know.

Keep up the series Big smile
I also am slightly disturbed by your calm tone & sadness at t1 ship losses (inb4 recording of rage outbursts)

Just watched the tengu video, and it really made me cringe, terrible tengu piloting (and fitting), terrible ammo loaded, terrible speed (lol 2.4km/s).

Dont let that fool you, a proper tengu (i.e well over 3km/s preheat) wuld have easily killed you all without any worry, really shows again that people who fly tengus without links should fly a caracal instead.

Nice series tho.

Due to faction warfare site mechanics, your unable to warp to anyone while there or to someone from outside there. Only way to "leave" the grid is to warp off from it.

I'm not sure it would have seeing as both crosi and I were in sensor damp frigs and kiting just outside of his lock range. That being said if he would have been a competent pilot he would have tried to sling shot us into his range, but as you saw he was not. Maybe in the future we will find outSmile

I know right! I never realized it until I started reviewing my videos. Def hope most people don't play with kiddos around lol.

I meant the tengu. I've managed it myself before in a dual prop active tanked SFI, long-pointed in a belt by an inty duo, and only seemed to take a few 100km before suddenly they weren't there for a second before reappearing without a lock, and I reacted fast enough to warp. I don't know if these plex have unusually large grids, but was under the impression the 100mn AB tengu is typically cap stable ABing without needing charges, so could keep trucking until suddenly free for a moment.

I'm not sure where we're going with this, but the FW grids are seemingly endless. I've personally flown almost 8k outside of the warp in of one and was still unable to warp to a mate. We were both on the same "grid," but over 8k away from each other. It's a dead space you can't warp around in, only out. I hope this helps to explain.

And to clarify, here's where I'm coming from https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Grid_Manipulation

I assume you've witness moving off-grid of something before, e.g. the sentry guns disappearing when burning away far enough from a gate/station.
My point was simply that if you time/expect the transition, you can use it as a free lock-breaking to evade tackle, and that the tengu should have been able to reach this situation. Smile
And that the FW grids do seem unusual to get that large if such transitions aren't happening. I'd expect several connected grids to inherit the no-ongrid-warping properties of the entry gate/beacon's one, but not that they just keep growing/are so large as a single grid.

P.S. Maybe these 2 cheatsheets are useful in relation to the last vid topic of logi

Yes I have, but FW grids are exceptions. If you don't believe me go try it for yourself. If you want to continue this conversation lets talk about it in game, not in this thread. Now, lets stop now with the off topic bit and talk about the proper subject matter of this threadSmile

TBH I favour small gangs where the state of the spare rep power is known. It's good for people to communicate if they think they're getting more/less dps/webbing/painting/neuting on them, or how their hardeners are cooking, and/or if they want to be bait-tanked because they think they're good to be & it'll help focus aggro while they perhaps aren't impeded by being heavily tackled.
