Raising sec status over 5

In another example of CCP actually removing content from the game, it's now no longer possible to increase sec status over 5 due to the special missions being nerfed or outright removed.

Are there any other ways anyone knows of?

No. And in fact, there's a more real problem in the mechanic as it stands as well: you can lose CONCORD faction status (remember: sec status and CONCORD faction status aren't the same thing anymore) but you actually can't gain it back.

I'm rather hoping someone sits up and notices this.

Why do you need it to be over 5?

It provides more buffer for sec status hits, plus some older players have sec statuses above 6, this option isn't available for newer players

https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Security_Status#How_to_get_above_5.0_Security_Status

I completed those 2 Concord Agents around the middle of 2010. Brought my security status up to +5.85 standing.

The 2 Concord Agents :

Christer Fuglesang = Level 2
System/Station: Autaris VIII - Moon 5 - CONCORD office

Jeremy Tacs = Level 2
System/Beacon: Mandoo

The Jeremy Tacs Concord mission was suspended for an indefinite time pending a fix due to players exploiting it. Due to that, CCP later promoted Christer Fuglesang from level 2 to level 3.

Last I heard he was still active.

Both agents were moved to Interbus, the Christer Fuglesang mission no longer gives a sec increase (I tried).

Oh, so if I continue to run missions for the Angel Cartel to earn LP for all the nice stuff they have, and as a result my CONCORD status tanks (because it will) -- I have no way to repair that?

Allrighty then.

You're approximately 5 or 6 years behind on the "removing content" claim. The majority of the agents were deactivated a long, long time ago. And they weren't removing them for kicks. Since missions could be run with Concord, it was an effective way to increase sec status without the risks and effort associated with ratting in nosec/losec.

They decoupled sec status and Concord standing with the release of Odyssey. They used the base Concord standing for the new sec status and wiped all Concord standings. At this point, if anyone has security status higher than 5, they deserve it because they've preserved it. If you're just buffering yourself for a few extra ganks, this thread sounds more like a whine than a question.

This is true, though it will have only one real effect: you would be shoot on sight in the Concord constellation that contains Yulai.

Really, you wouldn't happen to have a link to Dev Blog or patch notes about it?

Which is kind of why I think it should be addressed, yes. We can't recover those losses in any way at this point.

And even if the only implication is that you can't go anywhere near the Sanctum constellation, well, that is still annoying. It is, to my knowledge, the only game mechanic that permanently shuts off space to you at the moment.
