How are characters valued? Formula to create value?

So what makes a character more valuable than the other?

If character A and character B both have the same exact amount of skill points trained in the same skills what other aspects of the character have a positive or negative affect on value? For example, does kills/losses, name, corp history, etc. change the value? or are characters valued based on skills alone?

Thanks

EDIT: SO IS THERE A FORMULA FOR CREATING VALUABLE CHARACTERS?

Primarily how many skillpoints?,
Secondary how well are those skillpoints spent?
Thirdly, everything else: implants, sec status, corp history, name, clones, remaps, etc.

Also don't forget standings. Why to buy a character with -5 standings and can t go anywhere?High standings also mean you can anchor a pos and better trades in current faction areas.

the best iskies are for specificated characters very focused.
good capitals and boosters are usualy sold for more then other. Also pvp/pve>> industrial

Corp history has an effect when it was a scammer thief etc

Partially disagree: check my history, in past I've used to run standings creation corps.

A good thing to do is also to check forum archives for posts, just to clear who's thief and who's not.

If you set aside skillpoints (i.e. equal totals and identical distribution) then the key factors I think are Name, Corp History, Implants and Standings.

You can't change Name or Corp History - if one or both of these presents an issue for the buyer then their valuation of the character would be much lower or in some cases make a sale impractical, no matter the skill points or focus.

Implants are only valuable if they are relevant and most Standings can be repaired. Generally standings are really only an issue if there are Sec Status issues, or the toon is intended for use in Trade/Industry or Faction Warfare. Most other Standings issues can be fixed with ISK or time quite easily.

They are valued by how much the person wanting to buy is willing to pay and how much the person wanting to sell is willing to part with it for. This can lead to massive fluctuations in price. There is no single formula for pricing characters and all attempts to create one have failed spectacularly. The only real way to do it is to read the bazaar for months on end and identify patterns in character training and prices.

So what types of characters sell? What is the value of a million skill points on average?
