Actually I wanted to make a 20ft. tall sharkman who shoots fireballs from his ass, has x-ray eyes, and a blade for his left arm who wears a formal tux.

Therefore, in an MMO, rolling an opposite sex avatar is somehow noteworthy or some action that requires explanation or motive, as if it mattered.

When in fact it's equally trivial as the presumptions of the cause of diversion/deviance, the assertions intended to make people scared in the first place.

tl;dr: it does not matter.

Perfect post, gave it a like.

edit: hmm, how can I put a hypertext link into my signature?

We should write a self-filling script for this thread. And for 90% of GD, to be frank.

Roses are red / Violets are blue / I am an Alpha / And so it's you

Look at me, aren't I handsome ? Now you feel the need to create a male character, isn't it ?

I'm a bit confused to why this is a question.

I rarely play humans in RPGs. Most of the times my characters are about half my RL age, but I will occasionally play an older character if available. In games where you can choose ethnicity I often choose something different although I do have an Achura in Eve.

I base gender off the individual game. I feel as though the characters in the Bethesda RPGs are ugly, so I usually choose rugged guys. Femshep in Mass Effect has an amazing voice actor so I usually choose her. For a few fantasy RPGs I tend to go with Dwarven guys and Elven women. The Eve women are so pretty I just had to choose them.

I know I say this every time this thread resurfaces, but like many authors I see my characters more as friends with individual personalities rather than a literal manifestation of myself and like my RL friends they come in various forms. Celeste just happens to be my second oldest character and tends to stay docked and out of trouble so I post from this account.

My only regret, is that CCP only allows you to make perfect women, and not ones that you see in RL (that often).

My perfect women is a lot more buxom and curvy than the ones you can make in eve :(

I have made a female character and she turned real and sued me for alimony. True story and I honestly regret it. Ugh

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

Other than being a damn dirty ape in real life, why did I do it? No, I don't regret it.

Post with your monkey.

I made this character female because my experience from a couple other games is that you get extra tears from Red Bull and ritalin addled teens and socially maladjusted adults when they get killed by a girl, although TBH I get fewer misogynistic comments here than other games.

Do not regret it at all.

I like the p0rn star name Allysin Chaynes so I started making her in EQ2. She's usually the only chick I create and it is true people are nicer to her than this char.

1st edit: didnt' like the word p0rn correctly
2nd edit: And no the actual p0rn star that uses that name is not that good looking

I made two female characters for market trading in two different regions. They are named after my wife and daughter, so no, I don't regret it.

Done my time in null sec, now I'm just a Privateer wandering around High and Low Sec.

I picked the name from a Capital One commercial, the gender naturally followed suit.

War Kitten as a male would be as silly as, say, Jake Warbird being female.

No regrets.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

All the jokes, trolling, proto-feminism, 'yay boobies', incite and insightful comments aside this post just made me feel all happy inside. Thank you. If I had a wife and child and used alts I would also name my scamming characters after them. P

Seriously thou naming your alts after your wife and daughter is awesome.

I don't see the point in worrying about gender in a role playing game, gender is just as much a role as anything else.

You make a valid point, good Sir or Madam.

Well I made her, I am the OP. This character has a lot of meaning behind it for me though, becuase I tried to model her after the character Eva from Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater, one of my first crushes on a video game chick. Check out my signature if you're interested.
