So I'm flyin around in space, checkin out the sites, and then it hits me. Am I really in space? Or is this just a fictional representation of a former version of myself cruising the multiverse in search of purpose?

I am an adherent to the theory of Maya as our "reality" and Reality being something different.

What I enjoyed about Frank Herbert´s books was the underpinning realization that evolutionary goals achieved by drugs/genetic manipulations are the "paradox of existence".

If our goal is to simply transcend reality , why are we stuck during ascension trying to shape reality?

Another thing I really enjoyed, and that was very well portrayed in Planescape:Torment with the eternal question of "What can change the nature of a man?" is how, during the whole journey of self-discovery by the Nameless One, he ends up accepting "destiny" even if he truly avoided it for a long, long time.

It is quite entertaining, specially when regarding video games and fantasy or science fiction books and literature.

It opens up so many possibilities for discussion ...

So far, the best game for me to open up that particular venue of thinking was Planescape: Torment. From beginning to end you did a FULL CIRCLE , and during the loop you went to the extremes of reality.

I for one, wish more games challenged us mentally like this. Also the ending was superb.

If I may say so, EVE needs more Antagonists of renown, to portray our struggles, Creatures born out of fiction, not player-created content that destroys the fourth-wall in our journey, it´s easy to hate on a self-imposed tyrant or an odious pirate/ganker, but we need, to sum up my ramblings on this post, antagonists, stones, forces that want to curb our growth or Villains that affect us emotionally.

As eve is right now, all I can compare it to is the Mindworms of Alpha Centauri.

In a eternal state of almost reaching Transcendence but needing a final push by an outside force.

All of our player created content is moot if it doesnt result in a catalyzation of the whole work.

We need to step into a new way of playing, that instead of substracting or adding content, lets us shape said content into something new. I believe CCP needs to develop this idea further to help us turn into the spaceships finally.

Then again, as usual, I remain here , slowly eating my turnip soup.
