showing up on local has to be removed

I don't know enough to really say, but I kind of need local, to know when criminally flagged players enter the system I'm mining in, so that I can Get The Fu*k Out.

Dscan is your friend, get used to using it and mine fearlessly even in low-sec (yes, even in low-sec)

They use local as an intel channel etc etc etc... What exactly is stopping you from doing the same...?

The majority of the people crying "remove local from null" would be the exact same people spamming the forums with "not fair, I got killed in null because I didnt know they where in system".

They have intel channels that use local as a basis "x number of pilots, five neuts" or whatever. Set up your own intel channel, start your own corp/alliance that uses local.

Quit crying because you cannot use something they are using against you...

Removing local won't remove the gate camp for starters and it seems that camp was missing a couple things. Bubbles and an instalock tackle.

People are against the removal of local because then it would be hard. Noone in n̶u̶l̶l̶ EVE likes hard.

without local you would die in a lot more gatecamps. Especially at those gates which did not have celestials within D-scan range.

They are bad enough as it is. Imagine not even knowing that there could be a gatecamp!

Will never happen.

Realistically, when you enter any system in space, you would have no clue who or what is in the system with you- let alone their exact position(s) and that's what probing/scanning is all about.

Imagine how much more challenging it would be if you actually had to find signatures for everyone in a system to investigate them. Imagine people actually having to pay attention to d-scan to see if someone's popping probes to scan down targets. You wouldn't know if it's a PVP or PVE target until you warped in to investigate it.

My opinion- but I really do believe it would make the game much more exciting for everyone rather than catering to just the few lazy people who don't want to bother with scanning if they don't have to. It might actually bolster the role for people who actually do train scanning skills to scout out systems, etc.

TL;DR If you didn't read the entire post perhaps you're probably ADHD. (seek help)

What I would like to see is;

Give sov holding entities the ability to hide their presence (in local) in the systems they control. Like a "cyno jammer"(? maybe, not sure of the mechanics of this), except it would be jamming the scanning systems of pilots not in the corp/alliance.

Would be "afk cloakers" could afk all they want, and if they wanted to camp a system and attack miners or mission runners - they would do it at risk, not knowing who may or may not be camping them.

This would only work or be acceptable (at least IMHO) if Local were made a Strategic Upgrade in the first place.

Or you could you know, learn to play? If hostiles in local, don't go directly gate to gate. Check galaxy map for recent kills/pod kills, check active pilots in system. It's not hard to avoid getting killed.

the alliances have way bigger advantages because they see you 5 jumps ahead, just read the thread, I explained it in there

for a newb its useless because you can not see who is in the system ahead, but alliances can, they use local to spread the info on their internal intel channels
