You know this old eve legend, you probably met one of these unreferenced ship parts in a remote space junkyard....

Take this rusty torpedo launcher for instance , it seems to be a good high performance caldari design "attached" somehow to the proverbial rusty minnie hardpoint.by some sort of duct tape...Pirate

Are there unreferenced factions using twisted , exotic ship designs in the vast uneverse ?

Or as the rumor says, could there be rich alliances out there pursuing a glorious quest , the quest of building new pirate factions?

Secret factories in Wspace , gigantic financial and scientific ressources to create unique prototypes that combine the best of two different factions tactical capabilities?

I believe it would be great to have the sandbox effect on the missing pirate factions and let player made content compete and emerge into viable new lines of pirates factions from humble frigates up to capital behemoth of immense destructive powerAttention

many missions come with factions that only exist in script, like the EoM or the Seven. the former even has their own proper models for their ships and as i can see they use hybrids and launchers as main weapons, so they're like some sort of caldari/amarr or amarr/gallente hybrid. there must be other minor criminal factions there in the lore but we have to wait for that yet.

creating your own pirate ship would be cool, but you have to take in account the power projection of the current hulls. pirate capital ships would be incredibly overpowered in the wrong hands. we can only asure that, since the only pirate capital is one of the rarest hulls in the game and it even needs a buff in order to make it usefull. unless we could see how would a fleet of Revenants work in the game, we cant figure how OP would be a complete pirate fleet, including pirate logistics, pirate destroyers, battlecruisers and even rookie ships and industrials.

It could be balanced , the bigger the hull , the smaller the number of prototypes that can be build.

A prototype could be also a huge ressource sink and be a complete fail.

It s not so much about creating super big alliance monsterblobs of imba ships , more about letting players being involved in the process of creating the missing pirate factions NPC, using the existing hulls already in eve online but hybridising the bonuses / hardpoints.

Following Baltec, imagine a black khanid abaddon with torps bonus, now apply this to missing pirate factions.

+1

While not in application of existing pirate factions, this was a similar idea I submitted a couple months back on the subject.

I can not agree more on allowing player made creativity as long as it is monitored for game balance to the 't'. We don't want to get all second life or anything.

Please put this on your plate after all the current ships are balanced CCP. Id rather have player induced content/lore along side empire storylines any day over walking in stations.

I think i heard something about pirate faction fw project.

Player created content could be added to this dynamic.
New pirate factions could challenge old established pirate npc factions in their space.

Invention points would be gathered from pirate fw, then sold to large alliances.

Said alliances would use large ressources and special facilities in order to create prototypes, then sell limited quantity bpc into the new pirate factions fw lp store.

Minmatar/Caldari missile-based pirate ships.

Gallente/Amarr pirate ships with some weapon, I have no idea which one.

I d love to see Min/Cal ships , super fast with torpedo range bonus, diving on a big target while flying
at the same speed as their torps. So they end up on their target with several torps volley at the same time....
