Had cause to visit a very dear close friend today, His 47th Birthday. He is in a retirement/medical home due to a very severe stroke late last year, absolute tragedy. Without being medically astute I would venture a guess that He now functions at less than 5% of His normal persona.
I have shared clothes food beer lodgings money and even women with this Guy, it's hard to see Him in his current plight as we were once thicker than thieves together.

So..had been sat there maybe an hour and I was convinced that he knew I was in company with him. He was trying to talk to me!
Medical staff had a radio running in the background on a local station, was good listening tbh, commercial break then they threw this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYH8DsU2WCk out to the audience..

"Les it's..that song"
"do you still remenber it ?"
"did you forget about it"
"no..."

..out of His wheelchair and giving it Large, the Guy could still dance. /tears.

total Joy Division/New Order playlist since I got back, never underestimate the energy and joy contained within music.

You made my day, thank you. Best wishes to your friend, never give up!

I've been pretty busy this week, one of those long, slow build ups that requires a lot of endurance, motivation, and stick-to-it sort of attitude. It's caused me a fair bit of pain, burns running up and down my hands, legs about to give out due to long hours standing and prepping, the sort of thing you need good music to back you up.

This is what I've been listening to to keep my spirits up. I hope it inspires some of you as much as it inspires me.

Nice, how's the rest of the soundtrack? I haven't been able to see the flick yet... any good?

I've been in a mood for older stuff that I grew up on... lots of Rush and Iron Maiden type stuff.

Both the soundtrack and the movie are fantastic and I highly recommend it. It's essentially a super robot show and giant monster movie rolled into one nice package. All the action sequences are laid out very well, no shaky cam, you can actually see what's going on. I could spend hours gushing about it. Instead, I'll just recommend that you see it before it goes out of theaters.
