Calling it 'exploration' is misleading. CCP killed exploration...it doesn't exist anymore.

They replaced it with what you now enjoy and that is fine but please do NOT call it 'exploration'. It would be nice if CCP introduced exploration again in the future.

How exactly was what they had before exploration instead of what they have now? It's basically the same thing.

Find site, scan site down, get into containers, receive loot.

Because, unless I remember completely wrong, it was the same before but you needed to strap guns on to keep the rats from popping you while you auto solved the containers.

Now you need to actually pay intention.

I would say it is working as intended. People complain it got more people into exploration. THAT WAS THE POINT! :p

I am so sorry your isk printing machine is no longer printing quite as insane amounts as before. Get over it. Adapt.

Isnt that what you used to say to highsec dwellers when stuff there are changes? :)

I think you're missing a vital point.

When a "big" expansion is mentioned, and it's to do with major changes in exploration, the general expectation will be that players will be sent wide and far looking for stuff. Chained missions, short incursions into low sec, having to duck and weave in mini-missions. We did not get that.

Players I know just currently zip around in 10 or so systems in the region they live, clean them, and log on later to repeat. It's not that different from having respawning bosses in other MMO's, we instead get a small exploration site.

It does not feel like exploration, we are just playing a simple mini-game called "exploration".

Because using a DSP and comparing the results to a well documented table of signature strenght was requiring ton of gaming skills beside ahving the endurance of training the required in-game skills to V?

It was easy pre-patch.

But it took some sp investment and some practice in probing.

It's now really really easy Big smile

And way to crowded.

Yeah, I dont get the complaints about sites showing up when you enter system. I havent done any exploration since last year, but I just remember dropping a DSP as a I warped to the next gate, hit scan, then returned probe.

That part took no time at all anyway...

I agree with the OP; I also like the new exploration system. If I'm going to be exploring as a career at least the minigame makes it somewhat interesting. It's less boring than grinding missions. Smile

"The minigame is not hard to do, and you get two chances at it"

Exactly..... this describes Mario Bros precisely.

If you like to play Mario Bros, or Space Invaders, then the new EvE "exploration"system is certainly right for you.

Exploration used to be the thing id do all the time because it used to be enjoyable.

I now am currently looking for something to do as exploration is abysmal even if you do hop holes and null/low trek.

I dont often complain at CCP's choices on the game, but this change to exploration killed it dead for me. So dead i think im gonna take up missioning seriously for the first time in about 7 years.

I agree with the people who believe that the new exploration is ****. To easy, mini game is stupid and does not feel like EVE at all to me. Why not add an interface for mining where they get to stare at a rock and decide which part to mine? if they don't mine the shiney stuff they don't get the minerals? I hope the Dev DIASF.

What they introduced that the OP likes is fine, FINE...really. I just don't know why they couldn't just have added that content and leave exploration alone! What they replaced exploration with is fine and fun for many...but it is NOT exploration. I don't even know how anyone could even CONSIDER it exploration...so why did they remove exploration for this new content?!?
