"Bring boosters back." was the rallying cry of former Gallentean politician turned capsuleer industrialist Laurentis Thiesant in a statement made earlier today.

"Boosters have always had a place in Gallentean society when it came to the defense of our union and our freedoms. They have played a powerful role in giving our men and women (and those otherwise defined) at arms the mental and physical capabilities to serve and protect our Federation when it was under great duress, such as during the first conflict against the threat of recalcitrant Caldari corporate interests to name one example. In times of strife, booster biotechnology was there for us. They are part of our heritage." M. Thiesant reminised

He continued, "With a new Caldari menace hanging over our territories and the renewed threat of Sansha Kuvakei attempting to take action against the legitimate empires of New Eden, now is indeed the time to reopen responsible use of these stimulants and authorise scientific inquests to better these biological breakthroughts."

"Since they were removed from the Gallentean market, non-imperial research has greatly reduced side-effects, and with Federal legislative support - this progress could go further still."

"The Federal senate must immediately grant an exemption to booster use among our Capsuleer communities in Gallente space, with particular regard and respect to those serving for us in the Federal Defence Union and those engaged in combat against the illigitimate actions of the Sansha Kuvakei group. This will save the lives of many crews in both our militia and our navy, and will grant our nation the boost we need to secure our sovereign territory. The preservation of freedom, democracy and our way of life requires our action in this area."

"Further, research by registered Gallentean companies must be allowed to proceed as our civilisation progresses to bring the rewards and opportunities of booster products to all its citizens."

"The paranoid fear and hysteria of past generations cannot stand in the way of our social and scientific advancement. At their worst, boosters effected merely one in ten of all users negatively. That was many, many years ago. Times and technology have changed, and our attitudes and laws must adjust accordingly. Today, with modern cloning, medication, and with the development of these stimulants, we are well on the way to bringing boosters (and ourselves) to their best. We must take the initiative today!"

Preempting questions about his own use of the currently banned substances, M. Theisant noted that he was not a user and restated his belief that boosters "were not a recreational product, but a highly advanced biological technique for furthering our capabilities and driving the Federation of the future."

However noble your idea might be, Msr. Thiesant, I'm afraid that the political aspect of such an initiative won't be taken in that well by the Federal Senate and its sycophants.

However, even as the initiative to develop your own booster research wing will probably fail, importing from abroad is always an option.

At the very least, the Senate could use a trial basis to see what they could do with boosters. With that madman Kuvakei back with his damned Nation and very little chance of the empires working together to burn them down we need all the help we can get. I mean it's not like the Jove are gonna take care of them for us.

Its good to see the commercial spirit within the Federal Union is alive and well. Best of luck in your political and commercial endeavors.

There is a fine line between when a pharmaceutical drug is taken as a remedy and when it becomes something you take to enhance your normal performance, aka. a "booster". We, at Ataraxia Pharmacies, will not let the possibility of using them for the latter block for development of the former. On the other hand, we do not encourage people to overmedicate themselves.

Especially when it comes to separating drugs meant for capsuleer usage to that used by the common population. It is clear, that many of the drugs used for their performance enhancing abilities by capsuleers, have undesirable side effects and can be strongly addictive, if used by common people. The stronger types can even be lethal, which is why they are considered contraband by many factions within New Eden.

We are a bit uncertain what Mr. Thiesant is advocating for in his campaign. While we would certainly support further research and development of new medical possibilities derived from performance enhancing drugs, we will under no circumstance support a movement that wish to bring mind numbing narcotics to the general population of New Eden.

When the early pioneers of the Federation were slinging themselves further and further to the unknown, with their acceleration gates and crude space vehicles, they were driven by the ideals of freedom, advancement of the civilization and self-interest. The risks they took were much higher than what we are discussing now. Where has courage vanished in today's world? Have we lost the spirit which enabled the past generations to lay the foundations for the well-being of the our time?

Capsuleers may only form a minority among Federation's population but it still does not mean that our needs deserve less attention. Pilots modified to interface with a hydrostatic capsule play an important role at the ongoing struggle between the Federation and the enemies of progress, and freedom. It is outright irresponsible to not assist our troops who put their lives on the line to protect our way of life, by all possible means. As noted by Mssr. Thiesant, tearing down the obsolete anti-booster legislation would also be a boon for the economy.

This initiative has enjoyed practically unanimous support in the Intergalactic Summit, which over the course of history has proven to take place only in rare circumstances. I hope this constructive discussion conducted in a positive atmosphere will also encourage the respected members of the Senate to take a fresh look at this issue and give it a thorough, reality-based consideration.

The power of a good positive message for Gallentean politics is considerable.
