Unfortunately this does nothing to increase the value of the game. The guys that are taking this kind of attitude are just endorsing CCPs`s lack of customer service and action. This will just continue

If the game is going to progress, then everybody has a responsibility to make sure issues get beta`d , launched and fixed in a proper way.

With the dust 514 financial anchor dragging along , we all need to make sure CCP does the most it can with its money in EVE too.

The lack of immersion is one of the biggest problems in EvE as far as I'm concerned... scale is way off, asteroid belts, gas clouds, and complexes have no depth and lack dynamism, and then there's incarna. I'm thrilled CCP recognizes this and is doing stuff about it!!! Just getting CCP to recognize a problem is one of the biggest hurdles to solving it. They'll find the technical solution.

As for the trans-system tunnel being beta-y, well I'll grant you that. I've played this game for about 7 years though, and most of the features they put in the game are beta-y initially. The only question that's relevant is "are things better than they were before the addition of this feature", and the answer is decidedly "yes" in this case. Is there room for improvement? You bet. ...but at least they are on it!

DUST 514 does indeed suck hard. I've been playing the hell out of it... but I can't imagine it's drawing a lot of EvE resources. The "progress" they've been making with the game is very slow, and the the production value is obviously low. Really low. CCP can't be spending much... and as we learned from Command & Conquer: Yuri's Revenge: "slaves are cheap."

boot.ini working? Check.

Not getting stuck in gates? Check.

Not phantom warping away from things? Check.

...so what's the troubles, bubbles?

i feel like you`re kinda getting where some of us are at. But we just need some sort of reassurance something is being done. CCP haven`t posted for nearly a month and that was just a clean up post :(.

I can also understand that you`ve played for a long time and it`s easy to say CCP usually does things this way.
This CCP way may need to evolve as gamers become more fickle. The F2P model is becoming so popular because gamers are wanting to subscribe less in general.

Dust has to be a huge resource, it simply cannot be cheap. I`m sure Shaun Decker isn`t working for free for a start . This coupled with the new PS4 means that Dust will absorb huge amounts of time and money to stay afloat.

I`m not sure if the game can just be carried over to the PS4 un altered and check out the direct competition that is about to emerge.
BF4 and planetside 2 are just to name a couple.
But anyways some of us are only asking to be able to turn off the animation, or get it looked at. It`s just a request and I can`t see why that offends so many people.

probably about 6...7.. for all you "losing subscribers" they will gain more to fill your place. Sure they can modify the animation, but there is no need to remove it or an option to "not display animation", how many games have you seen where you can disable animations? it is a must these days to immerse players in the game, stop whining Lol

I may be crazy here, but I'll give this one more shot:

Let's make a deal - you pay me $15 a month, and someone will come over to your place for a few hours a week and hit you over the head with a rubber mallet. Doesn't that sound like a fair and reasonable deal?

Stopping to pay for this service will be viewed as unreasonable and overreacting. Oh, and you're not allowed to say anything about the pain either, because of course that would be whining.

If you agree to this arrangement, and endure it for a period of at least 3-6 months, then I will gladly concede all your points (video proof will be required). If you do not accept this agreement, then I expect you to remain silent on this topic from here on, because complaining without experience to back it up is the epitome of whining.

I'm a stargate fan and having the gates in game act kind of like the ones in the show is nothing short of EPIC.

If your PC has trouble with the effect I recommend buying a PC made after 2009 as my off the shelf integrated video card PC handles it without issue every time even with 2 clients running in windowed mode on top of each other.

Well, I'm a Babylon 5 fan, and I think taking out the old gate flash was a shame. But what does our respective choice of fandom have to do with the quality of a game mechanic? It's entirely subjective and ignores the real issues at hand.

Also, there has been very little said in this thread lately of PC performance; most of the conversation has been related to either people suffering ill effects from the animation, or those who don't like it and just find it tedious after multiple jumps. Do you have any brilliant solutions for those issues?

Two months after this thing was launched and still no solution in sight. Well, I've got less than two weeks left on my subscription; after that I'm out. As much as I love this game, there's no point continuing to pay for something that I don't get full use of and which causes me physical pain.

But until then, I will still be here making as much noise as I can!

Every now and then, it doesn't render correctly for me, and just shows as white blocks flying through the screen, quite odd.

Id also very much like the option to turn off this jump animation.

1: Its very annoying when multiboxing
2: The 982374982342th time you watch this animation it is no longer fun
3: It bugs out quite a bit and shows all sorts of weird artifacts
4: If i had epilepsy, im pretty sure this jump animation wouldve killed me by now

The point 4 is important.

I don't see how I can motivate friends to play at EvE as I don't know if they won't get sick. I have better things to do than doing damage control after a failed test, and I doubt that they will accept the « just close your eyes or maximize the chat window you weakling » method...

Well, maybe I can advert it that way : EvE, a new way to play video games ! Big smile

Removing obsolete signature... You just lost time to read that =)

I'm back from a 6 week break from Eve. Still no option to turn off the jump animation? Has there been any word from ccp about when they will fix this? I expect the answer is no, and can feel the anger rising in my neck.... I'm about to hulk-out right now!Evil

Actually, something has been done.

I'm not sure if you've noticed but the animation now is way less annoying than it was at the beginning. For a start, the camera no longer swings around wildly. It zooms to the gate instead. Also, the flashy tunnel effects are not as gaudy as they were before. And lastly, the animation ends by zooming you onto a cloaked image of your ship -- this helps me (for one) orient. So all in all things are much better than they were a few weeks ago. I appreciate the fact that some players may not be able to live with this new effect. But I started posting on this thread out of an honest incapacity to deal with the most extreme aspect of the effects. That has now been removed. So I'm happy to return to the game.

That said, I hope that everyone's concerns get addressed in due course. I know how much it sucks not to be able to jump between systems comfortably.

Peace. Smile

How many pages does this thread have to get before we get a response more intelligent than "there is no old system anymore" ?

It does seem to have been toned down a little, but as with so much of the stuff that CCP adds to EVE there should be a damn off button.

Please CCP. An update or a comment at least.....

They have made their choice already.....

It has been over a month since I last logged into eve with either of my accounts....
Soon this one will end as well....

They only want people who HTFU and don't complain about something new and shiny they added for the benefit of all the player base even though the player base never wanted it in the first place.

Now they do the typical CCP response and ignore anyone who tells them otherwise......
We are in the minority and until it really hurts their bottom line this is a low priority issue to them put in the "we will get to it soon" this decade backlog....

They have decided that it is worth losing those small amount of people who physically can't play and concentrate on new features to bring more players in......

For all that have commented I am here and ready too accept all of your stuff. Also not a fan of the animation and there are valid points about those with epilepsy

My specs.....

CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T
Memory 16384 MBytes
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6900

State of the art.... Of course not

Easily able to play EvE on Medium or High settings Yup.....

Before you try and troll saying HTFU and get a better comp know that even a 6-7k alienware POS running stuff that just came out yesterday would NOT CHANGE HOW I AND HALF THE PEOPLE IN THIS THREAD WERE BORN!!!!!

This is not a Hardware, Software, Speed problem. This is literally we have an ADVERSE PHYSICAL REACTION to the current graphics...
