50M or your ship. Oh wait, you're not insured: 75M or your ship.

It matters.

Thanks for pointing that out, now it does matter. I approve of this feature. Since carebears got highsec griefing nerfed, I want some kind of buff for us.

Methinks there would be much more tear redaction if there was a little sign informing the EVE community of who had an insufficient clone, so that the community at large could make sure to remind these players of how unwise it is to fly around with an out-dated clone.

This is important. If I'm to get hit by a space bus, I want to only get hit by those that are insured. Better chances at a windfall.

I can't remember the last time I insured a ship and I personally don't really care about this.

But I can see where people might find it a little over intrusive. There really is no need to know that about someone except for the tear reaction if you decide to go ahead and gank them.

At the end of the day it doesn't add anything to the game so why put it in?

Mr Epeen Cool

It's been a long time for me as well.

I'm slightly puzzled as well, although there are many that would feel more ammunition to needle someone actually is an addition to the game.

Perhaps it ties into something else we haven't seen yet.

My pet theory is that CCP still wants there to be a sort of balance between suicide ganker and victim, but I think they are trying for a more logical way to attain that balance than the status quo. Considering the other changes we have seen, I wouldn't be surprised if we see a change in the war declaration system soon.

Edit: Or possibly the bounty system, or both.

If it would show in a km
( hell, even a not upgraded clone to add? )

You could make some nice real damage stats on killboards

Wait... the remove insurance from Concord deaths, and add in the ability to see who has insurance? So now, the miner can guess that the BS next to him with insurance isn't going to gank him, but the Dessie without it will.

It matters.

well. it can matter if someone will try to commit this deal. Me personally - won't.

But yea. Sometime somewhere it will happen i guess. And insurance information will matter to ganker.

lol I like this change. It shows the ppl making the changes lately are schitzophrenic when it comes to whether or not suicide ganking is bad.

Or perhaps they don't consider it inherently good or bad, they just consider it a valid gameplay mechanic which needs to be balanced like any other one.

I'm not sure I like this feature. It's really not even about the merits of whether it could be a good gameplay mechanic or not. It just seems like it shouldn't be anyone's business but your own whether the ship is insured or not. I'm not sure what the reasoning is behind this, though, and would love to know more about what brought it about before it goes on TQ.

Just to clarify - the current mechanics of this feature are WIP on SISI :) When this goes to TQ you will NOT be able to see if other players ships are insured or not

In the time it takes you to check whether a ship is insured, they would be able to lock you, and put you into armor.

the information on if your ship was insured or not was in form of an extra "insurance" tab in the info window. we just wanted to make the information more obvious by moving the relevant info to a more obvious place and have it better formatted:)
