Classes will be starting soon, again, and I'll be going back to school - 26 Aug 13. So, I'll be letting my game subscription expire. In a few hours I'll not be playing anymore - until Fall semester ends and Winter Break starts up.

I'll probably still come to the forums to add my two isk to any conversation I feel needs my input, but I'll not be playing (I hope I'll be able to log on to the forums. You can't log onto the forums for SWTOR when your time runs out - incredibly lame).

I'm so hugely embarrassed. Oops After all of that hoopla about my subscription running out, CCP played a dirty trick on me and renewed my subscription for another month.... I was gonna complain, "Hey! I only signed up for one month. Who said you could add a month to my account? What gives?" However, after some research, it turns out I have to manually "cancel" my subscription for it to actually end.... So, I'm stuck Roll with another month of game time.

So, you'll see me still around, posting, from time to time....

Yeah it's funny how the word recurring seems to camouflage itself. I was too late on my decision to quit a well so these people have to put up with me for another 3 months.

Yeah, that's one thing CCP does that isn't cool. They should be smart enough to know that this player base bright enough and hateful enough to notice things like that.

I was just saying that last week I was thinking about cancelling and I put it on my to do list. When I went to do it, I got on the computer and the first thing I see is the email saying that I just made the payment for the next 3 months. So ya'all got me until Oct 11.

Ah. In my case I didn't notice 'recurring' when I started a second account. (Actually I'm not sure if I was given the option, but I'll assume I was and just missed it). I could never find an option to turn 'recurring' off, so I sent a petition asking how to do it. Didn't get an answer after three weeks, and another recurring payment went through. At that time I sold the account's toon and closed the account, so the petition became moot and of course I never got an answer.

An any event, I thought there should be an easier way to switch away from recurring payments.

I can agree with that. To my knowledge as well there is no disengage option. What I see is just the standard payment model that a lot of mmo's use. All payments are recurring until you cancel subscription, and you can pay in 1 month, 3 month, 6 month, and 1 year.

Are you sure? when I was looking up to make sure if recurring was there yesterday I went ahead and cancelled. It said that it went through, I'm just paid up for 3 months because that was the plan I was on. I'll probably be transferring that over to PS2 which I've got going monthly now.
