I love super scams! It's like watching a baby cry as it's candy taken away.

Neither of these claim they were posted by an ISD, merely stating something that needs to be done or has been done.

It contains a fake ISD referance and we'll find out if it's legit very shortly.

They're obviously inferring the creators of the page and therefore they are CCP or CCP reps (ISD). Outright violation of EULA.

I'm all for losers scamming in EvE. It gives people someone to point and laugh at. Going so far as to edit the Wiki to perform a scam, and then edit it again to hide, is something that should definitely be considered for banning those that do it. In game we protect the new player systems, while allowing scammers to spam local in hubs, the idea being that when you finally make that trip you should be experienced enough to avoid the scams. The Wiki, however, should be holy ground. It is, in its entirety, a new player resource. It exists for the sole purpose of providing basic info to new players. Exploiting the wiki in such a manner has the potential to adversely impact EvE in a manner that in game scams never could. People on trial accounts probably visit the wiki every day, it's the page the in game browser opens. Now imagine if people started editing it in a manner to nudge new players into a specific Corp. Is it ok for TEST to edit the corporation page, stating that their member corps are the only officially supported corps? Can they edit the alliance page to say that the Goons are known scammers that prey on new players? Can someone edit the page on RMT so that it appears to be a supported service, providing easy to follow links to one of the many RMT services out there? Can I create wiki pages about players I don't like? After all, so long as I don't embed the official CCP or ISD tag I'm not actually impersonating them, right?

Your whole entire post is ******** as CCP have rules specifically for the wiki to counter these points. Scamming however isn't banned from being on wiki. Thing is they person who editted the wiki never 'impersonated' anyone they just put a ISD name in the post and told them to mail them so yeah.

Wrong, by placing the banners on the page inferring its a CCP or CCP rep created page they directly impersonated CCP or its reps.

This sickens and upsets me, on the fundamental basis that someone else can do this to another person!

I mean, I stole 2b off and guy and then killed his battleship the otherday and I was pretty ******* happy with myself, Im just upset that I dident think of this XD

Congrats on your pay-day XD

-=-
P.s to the people arguing about inpersonating CCP/ISD all they did was say 'Go ask this isd dude' who would have had no idea about this 'legit' wiki page :P

Well played, well played :)

Negative. They put fake CCP banners on the page threatening CCP bans therefore inferring they were CCP or its reps. Obviously threatening CCP imposed bans is impersonating CCP because only CCP can give out bans.

If you believe that you have been victim of foul play outside of the boundaries set by the End Users License Agreement and Terms of Service, submit a support ticket and we will have it looked into.

For those speculating in this thread. CCP Games takes any attempt at impersonation of CCP or ISD, accidental or no, very seriously. This includes stating that a member of CCP or ISD has validated something they never did. Defacing the CCP owned and operated Evelopedia to facilitate a scam of any sort, impersonation or no, is also going to be looked at very severely.

Either party involved in this "transaction" is free to contact us for clarifications as required.
