Categoric improvement to Gallente faction ships

I think a broad consensus exists that the inexplicable forest camouflage pattern on the hulls of Gallente Navy ships is hideously, miserably ugly - to a degree that affects their usage, because I know for certain I'm not the only one who chooses not to fly them because having them sitting on my screen makes my gameplay experience vaguely unpleasant.

I propose a change that will make the ships look better while also being less incomprehensibly inappropriate in the setting.

Option 1: If CCP are attached to the notion of an old-school military camouflage pattern, then let's see some Dazzle camouflage, as used by terrestrial navies in the early 20th century. (It has since been rendered obsolete by changes in rangefinding technology, but it's pretty nifty.)

Option 2: A palette shift on the current textures would get us pretty close to more modern naval camo patterns - that's a random choice, but google "naval camouflage" and you get plenty of examples. Anything other than bilious green would be an improvement.

Option 3: If the Gallente Navy actually want to go for camouflage, can we please have space-appropriate camo? Basic black with nebula colours would look good.

There is no sane reason for large space vessels with neither reason nor capacity to land on planets to be camouflaged for hiding in trees, and it looks awful and always has. Even if it's just a palette shift, I really think it needs to change.

that actually looks pretty awesome. I'm sure it would get some bad reviews, but it would defiantly be an improvement over the woodlands camo they are using right now.

NO, I don't want digital camo to replace the current camo. that would just make them looks like they are poorly rendered. "naval camouflage" that is used now is not based on patterns. it's designed around the ability to survive sea water the best, absorb sensor signals more effectively to make them harder to see on the radar. and they are just a blue that is somewhere between sky blue and ocean blue.

how about just black? I would approve of that change.

Stop whining. The updated skins for Gallente faction ships (they're on Sisi) are a vast improvement over the old ones. The pattern is subtler, and only covers a few parts of the hull. The only ship that I wish didn't have it is the Comet.

Don't think of it as camoflage in the sense of concealment or silhouette disruption. Think of it just like any military uniform, but for your ship. It's just there to distinguish your Navy ship from its bog-standard equivalent.

I'm checking out some of the new skins, and I like what I see so far. Can't say I'm overly excited, but I'm not going to complain.

I don't agree that some of them are vest improvements though.

Surrender is still your slightly less painful option.

And yet, they're putting it on the Comet. Which means they're unifying the Gallente Navy colour schemes.

Which means that to save the Comet, we have to fix them all, so let's fix them all.

Thirding dazzle camo. the green stuff is horrible.

The digital camo is what's going on the hookbill, isn't it?

I honestly think the navy mega with it's jungle camo is one of the coolest looking ships in the game. I guess I'm alone?

No good, those are Serpentis colours. And it wouldn't help with what is one of my largest problems with the current skins, which is that it obfuscates the details on the hulls. The skins on Sisi actually go a fair way to addressing this, to the point where they're vaguely acceptable. It's not as if the normal skin on, say, the Mega is anything particularly spectacular anyway.

We need to do something to save the Comet though, the Camot is a travesty.

You really are. I had one before they changed the skin. I sold it after that.

And how about the pirate faction ships like the machariel, those are also in need of some loving, even now.
