Rapid Equipment Assembly Array - T2 Production - Waste Factor

A mobile assembly facility where modules can be manufactured quickly but at increased mineral cost due to waste.

Base time multiplier: 0.65
Base material multiplier: 1.2

I developed my personal production spreadsheet and used it over the years.
Today I compared the numbers of what my spreadsheet would calculate for a rapid equipment assembly array and what the ingame quote would tell me. Those numbers didn't match and I couldn't justify the discrepancy by the "rounding issue".
Turns out I had several errors in my spreadsheet which I was not aware of for such a long time. Ugh

1st - I was sloppy in my spreadsheet and applied the "base material multiplier" to all materials, even though I had to apply it only to raw materials. But numbers still didn't match, so ...

2nd - Since the description of the REAA says "base material multiplier", I calculated "original value of material demand" (e.g. in NPC station) times 1.2. I know now this is wrong. What it wants to say is "20% of your materials is wasted", so you have to calculate "orignial value of material demand" divided by 0.8. Now, numbers matched for the production of one t2 item at the REAA (spreadsheet and ingame), yet when I tested it with the production of another t2 item, I found a new discrepancy, so ...

3rd - the waste factor aka base material multiplier is not ubiquitous and always the same for all t2 items in REAAs. The t2 item I have in mind has 3 different minerals under "raw material". According to the ingame quote, the first mineral has a waste factor of 25%, the second and third have a waste factor of 0%. Question

Arrow Please, could someone explain to me why this is the case? Is there some kind of rule behind it which I'm not aware of, or is it just an irregularity. I did not have the chance to test/verify it with the production of other t2 items.

Please also keep in mind that I was talking from the perspective of producing from an original blueprint. I just had a look at an invented t2 bpc. BPCs come with an inherent waste factor
a) which is not equal for all raw materials (why?),
b) when you put them in a REAA, the waste factor changes (but my calculation of "original value of material demand" divided by "1 minus inherent waste factor" and further divided by "1 minus REAA waste factor of 20%" OR "original value of material demand divided by "1 minus inherent waste factor minus REAA waste factor" doesn't work, so how to calculate?) and
c) there seems to be an upper limit for the waste factor of 50% (can that be confirmed?)

Finally, is there any other advice/rule/hint regarding waste and REAA which I did not mention yet, but should be aware of?

Thank you for your input.

As far as i know, the waste multiplier only affects the "normal" materials like minerals in T2 production.
It doesnt affect the stuff listed in the "extra materials" part, which usually is where all the T2 components go.

Im sure the industry gurus will explain it much better.

They are really only useful if you have a T2 BPO.

Guy above you nailed it.You're wrong.RAees are usefull if you have t2bpos AND bpcs, because like 2line above poster said that the 20% extra waste applies only for minerals, but not for extra materials like morphite, microprocessors, focusing crystals etc.
This why these arays are the best for production of tech 2 items which use only extra materials, because you use the same materials as you would in normal aray/station but you produce sligtly faster which in turn makes for more isk/h, just keep in mind some tech 2items do have mineral as well as extra requirements and some have only extra materials after bpc is invented so do your research.
