I know what you are thinking, not another Skill Point thread!!!
Hear me out though.

Idea/Feature:
1x per year, allow a character to re-allocate 1MM SP for 2 PLEX.

Why:
While it is true that a large part of the game revolves around planning and consequence, there have been rebalancing efforts in the past, which have made specific skills value depreciate.

Example:
When I first started playing the game, someone told me a great way to make a fair amount of residual ISK was to train up your Researching skills and use LV4 Research Agents to gain RP. This took a few months of training to get the skills where they needed to be, to make the Research profitable. After modifications to how RP was harvested, the skills previously used to maximize the benefits of gaining RP we’re discounted greatly.

Additional arguments for:
With rebalancing and game mechanics continuing to change, it makes since to have the latitude to adjust certain character elements as needed, or wanted.

Closing:
Don’t troll me too hard. I think it’s a valid point.

No. For all the same reasons all the other similar threads have had a loud and passionate response of no.

No, we want absolutely no part of paid reallocation, paid neural remaps, paid accelerated training, paid SP.

Get over it, it will absolutely never happen.

Part of what makes the game have such a strong following is the SP system.
95% of the current system needs no alterations, I agree.

But, part of the system does need a little massaging.

There has to be some evolution.
A focused reallocation program would do more good than harm.

Re-allotment, hrrmmm not too bad an idea actually, at least compared to most. Still not sure Eve should have it/needs it but definitely one of the better/best ideas I've seen on SP.

speak for yourself.

i would like to just allocate my sp once. there have been SO many changes and even if i had to buy new books, i would.

think about it. we are clones. our memory is placed in a clone when we die. who's to say we cannot alter that memory to use amarr over minie bs 5? as long as you have trained it and have the sp, whats the difference?

when we did away with learning skills, we were given those sp back and i was able to fill in a bunch of holes on one of my pilots. worked out well. no one died because of it.
altho i might have felt an earthquake shake, i dont think the world stopped turning.

it would be nice for a 1 time, post balance reallocation of sp.

I do like the idea of respecs, for many of the same reasons. I have entire skilltrees i never use, millions of SP just sitting there being useless. It'd be nice to do something with them.

That said, i will never support paid respecs in an multiplayer environment.

My counter-suggestion would be this instead; Once per year, counted from your characters 'birth', you get the right to drain one million SP from any non-required skills, to reinvest or save, same way it works when we are reimbursed for removed skills.

And this is the consequence you pay for not learning about EVE on your own and choosing which skills to invest in yourself. No mulligans in EVE.

^^ this many times over this.

sure i made mistakes in my training. but i really dont want any form of reallocation of SP. EVER. unless the cost is that all characters on the account gets biomassed.

Anything done in small moderation, as a one off event, or even something on a schedule like remaps might be acceptable as long as it went out to all characters equally, the main issue is the issue of paying in PLEX in order to shift the SP.

The act of paying $$ in order to reallocate existing SP, if not outright pay to win, would certainly be close enough to see it's reflection in P2W's shiny bald head.

That being said, I still don't like it, but if CCP gave it out with an even hand I probably wouldn't ***** too much about it.
