Enough.

We get it. Your Eve vets, you flew around during the days of Farjung and have had some of the best fights with active armour tanking fits.

We get it, we know you think having active tanking mechanic in eve pvp is good for the game - watching your armour bob up and down like a Rev counter can be epic. However....

It has no place on Commandships. Zero, Zilich.

You say we can always "ignore bonuses" and do crazy things like fit missiles on ships with energy weapons bonuses, but when you have bonuses that are in direct contradiction to their role, in a class with one clear, bleedingly obvious outlier...



And i'm not happy with just boosting rep modules by 15% It'll probably break more than it'll fix (as if most bs 1v1's weren't about waiting until someone ran out of cap charges).

So how about an alternative? How about Reactive Armour Repairers and Reactive Shield Boosters. They'll come in 2 flavours, one that increases the amount of damage repaired per cycle under increased dps received (by up to 300% +overload) and the second that reduces cap use under energy neutraliser load (by up to -50%). Both will have 90% the efficiency of t2 rep's and use more power grid. They may also take a few cycles to really get up to max, but - IMO, something like this would be a way more compelling 'fix' to active tanking than just boosting the values and putting active tanking bonuses where they don't belong!

Think about it, if not for this expansion, then the next.

But those command ships already have active tanking bonuses. how is it putting a bonus where it doesn't belong when it's always been there?

When the rebalance came, most of us thought we'd at least have 4 brick tanked damnation clones and 4 active tank skirmishers. Role bonuses in a similar vein to the HIC's, to fix the massive imbalance in their current implementation.

This isn't the case, and a few of us, CSM included, are miffed.

No. We thought active tanking sucked years ago too. Its always sucked for anything outside of tournies or specific uses. Thats exactly why gallente and minmatar get it, they suck as well. Amarr #1

I should probably make it clear in the OP those commandships always had active tanking bonuses, and that with the whole rebalance everything thing we thought we'd get some much desired parity... Maybe, who knows, maybe it's just me and Malcanis

Count me on it.

2 Gallente CS with active armor rep bonus is silly, while not much of a problem for small engagements when it comes to fleets Gallente will have no other choice but to use space brick Proteus or their command ships will get instapop by the first volley.
