Sometimes i feel like CCP just doesn’t love me anymore. Maybe a free one million sp on my characters birthday would alleviate this feeling...

I konw what you mean.

For my birthday I want all your stuff.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

actually, this idea isn't so bad;
giving small amounts (100k-1mil) of SP every once in while might make people enjoy the game a little bit more - most people like getting presents
care must be taken that not too much SP is given out - a lot of people don't seem to like presents being given to someone else

Why?

"I feel like CCP doesn't love me anymore. They should give me a free pirate BS on my birthday, just to show that they love me." Yes, it's an equally stupid example, that's the point.

All you're saying is that you want CCP to give out free stuff because you're greedy.

No no no.

We're saying we want CCP to give us free stuff to show they care, not cause we're greedy.

We can be greedy in Eve without CCP giving us anything.

However, CCP giving away crappy shuttles every GREAT once in a while isn't exactly showing the player base that they care about us.

Hell, with the introduction of PLEXs' and the new aurum items, it actually seems that they care much more about our money than they do about our happiness. Example: CCP should have known that the vast majority of Eve players would have preferred something in the aur store that would have allowed us to customize the color of our ships. This would mean that the players would be willing to pay real money for things that most of us have wanted for years. Instead they put out CRAPPY items for avatars which the fast majority of Eve players could care less about, then they asked a REDICULOUS price for them.

So basically we want CCP to show the love and they actually care about the player base and not just the money of the player base.

So some SP on our birthdays really isn't asking all that much. It's just us saying to CCP "Hey, ya'll mind showing us that you appreciate an additional year of us being a loyal customer?"

Is that too much to ask?

Don't think of it as being greedy, think of it as a loyalty reward.

Also, please try and refrain from insulting people just because you disagree with their opinions. Makes you look like a child.

Since the average subscription time of Eve is 6 month, this might be incentive for lengthening that to a year?Cool

Of course, this would have to be based off the amount of time a player plays, and not the actual age of a player.
So it would be more "when you hit one year of play" vs. "when you're one year old"

Asking that CCP does something to show their appreciation of our business? No, that's not a problem. How they show that appreciation can be a problem if done wrong.

In my opinion, the best way they can show their appreciation of my business is: Have a clear vision of how they want EVE to be and communicate that vision with the player-base.

Once CCP, CSM, and the play-base have established an agreeable vision, CCP then needs to set realist goals to make that vision a reality. And they can do that by openly communicating with us and actively listening to our feedback about content, features, etc.

I feel CCP as a company is moving in that direction and this has renewed my interest in this game. Though I still have a wait and see attitude to see if their actions match their words.

As to free SP on my characters birthday or whatever? I don't see that adding any real value overall. Especially if there are areas of the game that could use work.

Surrender is still your slightly less painful option.

that would just reward the AFK cloakers and botters. I think it being on the players birthday would be cool. or just as a Christmas present.
and this would not imbalance the game (much) as everyone would get the same reward. if it were something like 1% of their P then that could suck.
also if it were to be implemented, it would have to be one character per account, so they get a reward box and they have to choose, otherwise all of a sudden we would have a ton of combat pilots that have really good cyno lighting skills.
