Duh. Bot armies would create throwaway accounts to farm the newbie tutorial missions for equipment (and reprocess for trit.)

Crisis averte.

Edit: oops no reprocessing allowed.

No reprocessing required.
You can't reprocess a n00bship. But the single unit of Trit that comes gratis is already refined.

I can see it now.

EVE in 10% TIDI from thousands of pods undocking and redocking to get 1 unit of trit.

I apparently have no idea what I'm doing.

Would be entertaining.

But actually, you've missed a move: Tens of thousands of n00bships warping to Disco-phoons in order to be turned into salvage... Even if you can't reprocess the scraps, sometimes salvage comes up with components.

How well does a mega fare VS the other 254 pilots in thierIbis awoxing you?

If you're definitly going to go up against noob ships, use 6 guns and a large smart bomb.

Scram/web the frigs and blap them, bomb the rest.

Couldn't you just use rail guns and art cannons or missiles to counter that?

So I guess the assumption is that all mission deadspaces would be barren too? No more farming "Break Their Will" for endless supplies of Scordite and Veldspar?

Would we not still be able to build T3 cruiser?

The irony when T3s become the cheapest ships on the market... No more whining to rebalance them if everyone flies 'em Lol

Im sure people would still argue about balance between the 4 T3s

Considering that an ibis does 2.5 dps with the civilian gun, and the lock time for a megathron is forever, I hope he's got a tank that will take 600 dps for a long time. 1200dps if the ibis' fit dual civilian guns...

Its never gonna happen but if it did i can imagine at some point people would be reprocessing capital ships and then capital ship parts to get more raw materials.

To all those talking about hauler spawns...
The OP did state that there would be no means of acquiring new Trit. Your hauler spawns would only be dropping Pye and up.

Existing stockpiles are likely great enough that the repurcussions would hit fairly slowly - and there would likely be occasional bursts of respite as reactivation offers hit and folk unfamiliar with the situation logged in, saw the price of trit and liquidated their stocks without realising the permanence of the shortage...

None the less, as prices rose and stockpiles depleted the rising cost of T1 and T2 relative to T3 would likely encourage yet more requests for the release of T3 frigates.

Meta modules presumably still drop from rats so we wouldn't be forced to go unarmed just yet - but as the ISK value of hauler spawns and complexes/anoms crashes due to lack of demand for Pyerite -> Megacyte and the ISK value of Salvaging L4 missions rises this would rapidly become a conflict zone in both the game and metagame.

I guess then that reverse engineering Sleeper and Talocan weapons systems would begin to become a priority - Most likely T3 would have to become the new T1.

I would pay actual money to participate in this. About tree-fiddy, to be exact.

All fleet doctrines would revolve around ships that you can obtain with LP.

Everyone would participate in Faction War.

This remind me of "The Settlers II" game. You mine ores & gold, enter in a sort of golden age (you have good soldiers because of the ores, etc...) but they are fastly depleted and so we go back to an eternal prehistoric era with wooden swords/shields only... It was really frustating most of the time =)

So... It depends of how the depleted tritanium era appears. CCP can make an announcement, or say nothing and it is the players who realize one day that the asteroid belts become smaller each time they respawn until they don't anymore.

This is important because the consequences won't be the same. An announcement will move the market and all tritanium will be sold for the instant. But the second situation will give doubt and some clever people can take advantage of it or make preparation for the incoming prehistoric era that they expect.

And even Ibis shouldn't be given by the insurance, after all they probably need tritanium to be built too =)

Also, according to the background, empires probably sent some colonization ships to some unknown systems while we speak. CCP can "release" sometimes new systems to motivate players in a large-scale war to get the newly available ressources, who will be depleted fastly of course.

Etc.... All depends of CCP.

Removing obsolete signature... You just lost time to read that =)

Yes, but then the guns will blap you without a problem.

I wouldn't worry. The bot armies will keep the tritanium flowing since all those Ibis' come with a free unit of trit...

For some strange reason the 1 unit of trit you get as a consolation prize reminds me of the mint they put on your hotel pillow.
