Ship Maintenance Array Security

Why is there no fine-grained security on ship maintenance arrays?

Corporations are forced to give all or nothing access to members. They can use multiple SMAs, but that's inefficient. They can heavily restrict access, but for POSes that see heavy use, as in wormholes, that can tax the trusted members and cause frustration when those members are unavailable. If they decide, like many organizations, to open up access, theft becomes extremely easy.

As frustrating as the security on Corp Hangar Arrays is to deal with, it would be a huge improvement to add divisions to Ship Maintenance Arrays. Allowing a variable number of divisions in both would be even better.

I agree, over the years POS has been slowly put into the corner while CCP has worked on more important things. A broken system like POS which many people have been basing their space lives out of should demand more attention than it does currently and should be looked at.

In general, roles and access control in eve is terrible, which is magnified within a POS.

It would be be great to have a security tab on containers and arrays with detailed permissions and ownership.

This is an important issue to me personally, as life in wormholes means living out of SMAs. The problem is that the POS code is a total mess. Rather than making things worse, CCP have said in the past that they would like to re-implement POSes the right way from the ground up. This is yet another thing they should be doing instead of making space boots and dresses.

Remaking them from the ground up would be great. Big smile But that sounds like they would need resources to do. Sad

I'm glad that the CSM knows about the problems with POS, I just wish the head honchos at CCP had the same feeling about it. When you take people's homes and neglect them for so long it really looks bad on the game.

Then resources should be allocated to fix the issue instead of diverted into new features that never get fully developed.

the peopel that designed the roles and corp managment ahve long left ccp. id doubt anyone at ccp knows how to change the exsisting system.

so what you would have to do is redesign the whole system from the ground up. while id liek it to be fixed, id doubt the new ccp have the man power or teh will to fix it. id also be worried that they would **** it up worse than it is and we would ahve to pay 5000 aur to set directors or have new titles

OMG when can i get a pic here

After everything you have read from CCP at games expos, on these forums, their dev blogs, do you really think they are going to fix stuff like this? Do you think they care.

If so, you are literally insane.
