Thats what I do. In fact: I do map-flying all the time now as it is easier than turning it on and off for every jump. As a bonus I also get rid of the scan animation that way.

Considering that CCPs stated goal with the jump animation was to increase immersion in the game, they kinda missed the target.

Really?

The only reason that i can think about insert a turn off option is that CCP, and the amazingdeveloper, knows that more than 90% of ppl turn it off.

Yep. I especially recommend this clever tactic to all the hauler pilots flying in lowsec regions near my home. Smile

Was the last CCP post on this topic from 3 weeks ago, would be nice to get an update... or maybe when the work in progress will hit test server so i can try it.
I would like to help...
Another tip for sufferers... I find DOTA 2 works quite well as a cure.
It has depth , a healthy esports scene and doesn`t make me want to vomit.

I think either part of my ship or all of my ship should be shown in the animation to make it complete. I kinda like it but i do not do drugs anymore. =()

Course they could replace it with a simple screen with a loading bar or a pic of something.

I'm going to laugh when some epileptic kid goes into a coma from this and his parents sue CCP for trillions of iskies.

What I found fascinating is how crazy the animation looks when TiDi is in full swing. Did the dev's have anyone watch this for several minutes in one swing?

90%, I doubt of it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is close of 50%. Maybe there is some kind of elitist mentality too, if we take into account the fact that a dev was laughted by his mates because he has a partial motion sickness with the jump animation.

Is there any "update" by the way ?

The jumping animation gets old very quickly. Returning after 2½ years, I immediately felt it was something unnecessary as putting a big rear wing on your 70mph (120km/h) top speed compact car. They brought back ship spinning, even though it lacks the momentum it used to have, I trust they can bring back... well, the nothing animation for jumping.

I'm glad you can turn off the "camera tracking", it's the second thing after Minecraft's "nausea" effect that managed to induce motion sickness in me.

Maybe you can turn it off for AUR 3.99? On a per-character basis of course. Per month*.

Has anybody suggested in this thread not to look at the screen when it happens and maybe look out of a window to familiarise yourself with what outside looks like?

Yeah, they did.
There were also suggestions to HTFU, buy a "real computer", and "stop whining".

Seriously, though, it is very disappointing that after almost 3 months and a 60-page thread, nobody from CCP realized the need to go into damage control mode. They should. What is most disappointing here is not just the horrible animation, but the hubris and the "there is not old system anymore" posts by devs in charge.

I have unsubscribed one account (can't do it to this one, sadly - it is PLEXed until late 2014). At least 4 friends of mine did the same.

If you unsub due to such a simple thing as a jumping animation I really doubt you'd stay much longer. Not saying that the complaint in itself is without merit (I personally like it but I can understand why it doesn't suit all) but unsubbing is rather drastic.

I dont think its that drastic tbh. Its a simple and sensible reaction.

A Customer was doing something they enjoyed, someone made a change to it that means the enjoyment is negatively impacted and they now feel physical distress when they perform the activity. So why keep paying ?

Undo that change, remove the problem, the customer starts paying again, IF youre lucky. They may stay away simply because they now cant trust you to NOT do stupid crap like this again.....

1: It hasn't been close to 3 months.
2: CCP has already responded to the situation by stating that the effect would be modified, but it was going to take a while.
3: Telling you that the code changed and the old system is no longer there is being truthful, not hubris. It's simply not what you wanted to hear.
4: A 60 page thread, while certainly making the issue important enough to work on, does not constitute an emergency. Especially when you consider how many of those pages are simply the same people posting repeatedly.

So yes, it deserves (and is receiving) attention... and you have been told that early on, just don't expect them to drop everything to address the issue. Those of us not affected are delighted that they are going to make your life easier again but, no offense, it simply doesn't affect a large section of the player base.

They'll get to it as soon as the can.

So continuing to pay for a form of entertainment which makes you physically ill is a reasonable response? And avoiding activities which make you sick is "drastic"? Are you serious?

Physically ill? Lol I am sure there are some valid cases and arguments but many cry babies in this thread they swapped a loading bar with an animation.. That's it, sure do some modifications to it but lets not move backwards. Or request a complete text based version of this gameSmile

PS Pls keep it I am in love

I`m gonna answer this maturely, it does make me feel quite i`ll as i posted before but i do not worry.
Most of my game nowadays is spreadsheeting and stations, it`s like a hobby .
It`s worth pointing out that other animations in other games with less of the"flashy flashy and the turning around don`t cause any problems and do the same thing.

It`s also worth noting that CCP knew about this in beta and pushed it through anyways.
Thats awesome customer service.

It is unfortunate that this thread is really losing track of what`s going on.
The graphic causes a few people physical problems (even if they, like myself are in a minority)
CCP knew the graphic caused problems and pushed it through ( probably hoping it would be something the afflicted could tolerate and get used to)

It`s 2 months down the line and the graphic is still causing problems, no hotfix, work in progress or beta to check etc.
So you`re in a position where a company is causing harm knowingly without a proper disclaimer and (sorry to say it folks ) no intention of sorting it soon. There`s a kind of liability thing in there somewhere i`m sure.

Now forget the bloody jump thing exists and just take a look at how the feature was introduced.
You guys may be saying HTFU now , but when another part of your game gets savaged , you may not be feeling so clever.

People are bragging about the old LOADING bar for years. Now the have what the want and now its lagging people well you`re ****** pc. Well no sorry that will be not happening.
yea yea yea ... yada yada yada! You should immediately take some valium before you get a heart attack! It might be a better idea just to support an on / off option and you still get this you want to keep, then you may not need your medication.

Well to bad for you the will not change it back. So the whining thing is over end of topic.
