I know I can click on a system to set a bookmark to a system, but how can I set a bookmark to a station without being in the system?

You can search for the station in people and places and then set destination, or just link it in a chat and set destination by right clicking on it.

You can do the same on the map. Just search for the destination and set destination by right clicking on it.

I tried these things, there is no right click option in the map for bookmarking a station. Try it.

Show Info on the destination system, select Orbital Bodies tab, pick station from list, show info on it, and then set destination.

Uh, he's asking how to BOOKMARK it, not set destination for autopilot.
Honestly I can't answer because I've never created bookmarks for things outside of the system I'm in.

I could be wrong but i has always been my understanding that bookmarks can only be made in the system you are in.

Why do you need to have a BM of an object in a system you are not in?

I think he thinks that bookmark is setting destination, at least thats what i based my response on.

If it is a bookmark.
There is no way to make a bookmark without being in the location you want to set the bookmark.

I want to BOOKMARK it.

The reason for bookmarking a station is that you can quickly set a destination to a bookmarked item. I want to avoid having to manually search and find a destination station. The way to do that is to bookmark the station, then it can be set instantly as destination. However, I can find no way to bookmark a station unless I am in the system already.

Yep, I have been doing this because in most cases I will have assets in the station I want to go to.

Can't check at the moment, but I seem to recall being able to right-click on the destination station in the route, after setting a route from the info, and getting an option to make a bookmark.

I'm positive I've bookmarked stations remotely before.

I leave a rookie ship or shuttle at all important stations for future navigation via assets.

Update: I figured out how to do this

How to Bookmark a Station Remotely

1. Go to People & Places

2. Select "Search Type" drop down to "Station"

3. Enter in either the name of the system, such as "Jita", or a partial name of the station, such as "Caldari Navy Assembly"

4. A list will come up with either all the stations in the system, or the matching stations, depending on what string you entered

5. Right click on the station you want and select "Save Location..."

You will then get the bookmark dialog and be able to bookmark the station.

Although you have answered your immediate question, one thing I do for routes that I visit frequently is build a list of the destination stations in the Notepad accessory of the Neocom. I can then right click and add waypoints without digging through bookmarks or maps, etc.
