Increasing text size and "show text only" every time I enter a new convo or channel

Is there any reason I have to change the font size and turn portraits off every single time I enter a new channel or have a conversation with someone?
Rarely do I look at someone's avatar in local and be all "that dude looks pretty familiar" or "golly he looks hot, I should talk to him". So i turn them off. I also prefer having a larger text size than the default in my chat windows.
You'd think there would be some sort of save chat setup or whatever the hell so every god damn time I open a chat I don't have do this.
This seems like something that would be obvious to have in place and probably not too hard to accomplish.

+1 my old eyes can't see the default settings, and I don't care about people's portraits

I support this as well. So tired of getting into a conversation with someone only to have to scale the text u a couple of points.
