Tengu and L4 needed Tank

EvE is about having fun... If you find micro managing boosters and worrying about being webbed fun.. then go with no cap stable billion isk ships.. Using a cap stable tengu does not slow your mission times down enough to make an issue over it, if if you cap stable and get distracted... guess what.. you don't loose your ship. The same with this apparent over tanking.. if you have to keep changing hardners for different rats and keep an eye on spawns.. that no fun.. micromanaging every aspect is no fun.. I fly over tanked 6 launcher tengu's and have never come close to loosing a single one.. and guess what I am having fun...
You have choices... do what makes you happy.. hell I seen a buffer fit tengu run 10/10 plexes with no tank and a 100mn ab.. but boy did the pilot have to be very careful...

my 2 isk worth ...

I have found target painters to be useless in missions with Caldari Navy. The frigs get in under the range or something I seen no difference in damage with it on or off. I could be missing something however.

I use rigor1 and rigor II and CCC

I also use one Invul and one Hardner less power consumption and more resist for rats you are fighting.

I like being cap stable because it is almost a goal to have the skills to be so with just a %3 inplant and when I need to have everything on like getting webbed and scrammed in WC Serp room it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Large Booster, because yeah...lets run 2 small and waste a mid slot. A medium plus a boost amp...yeah 2 slots again. 1 Large booster. Gist prefered.

That's the whole point though, isn't it. A larger tech 2 booster is too inefficient with cap, so a boost amp is required. One has to use deadspace which are more efficient, and more costly.

I moved to a faction & deadspace fit because I wanted to fit a target painter, so I needed to free a slot, and also because I wanted a silly large tank that no level 4 mission could break even if I was not moving (webbers can get annoying).

However a faction & deadspace fit isn't required to do level 4 missions, as the thread title does ask what tank is needed.

Yeah this needed a new thread Roll

God forbid you pubbies actually do some research before frantically posting a thread asking for someone to hold your hand.

lol, your first loss mail back in 2008 when you started Jan 19 (would post it but its against forum rules for certain situations and available on BC though its manual post).

Cormorant vs Navitas, you were but 3 days old. Needless to say, your Cormorant didn't win. Especially to a mining frigate Shocked ! How was that learning experience? 1 missile launcher and a miner, but you aggressed in a newb corp. lol newb mistake there Lol

lol your second loss mail was a caracal to a merlin a week later. A frig, if which you know light missiles work wonders against even in the hands of a newbie if they got lucky. lol the 2 heavy launchers, an assault launcher, and a salvager in the highs, hull rep ship scanner 1mn AB with 1 civ shield rep in the mids and whats this...a hull rep and armor plate in the lows on a shield ship. Classic newb loss Roll

Or your third loss mail, of all things a drake in lowsec. Ah, that famed ship. And whats this? OMFG! Still a month into the game and you still didn't learn to fit right. A 2x standard missile launcher, 2x standard missile assault missile launcher, 3x heavy assault missile launcher, a salvager, a ship scanner (again?), a hull rep (again?), and small armor repair (shield tank ship), over drive (slow ass ship that drake until you get skilled up enough to be good at nano flyig), and a warp stab. On top of that, you lost your pod a minute later along with that painfully laughable killmail where you have not even learned to put a shield tank on it.

And 3 months later around your 5th month into the game, you have a properly fit caracal sporting a tank and 5x of the same launcher without your favorite hull rep, ship scanner, and armor rep. lol what did you do with that 3 months, spend your time in highsec like a cry baby? From your second loss mail second month into the game shooting 1 newb in a moa, a bunch of faction towers (which can't fight back, so easy as **** to destroy if you have enough time) you managed to bag 1 ship in your first 5 months before your lolmails had a decent fit that it took 14 guys to down you.

How did you learn? Did you ask someone for advice? Did you read a guide? Either way, your basicly holding hands as you learn from someone with experience be they told you word of mouth or wrote a guide. Usually, the first step to learning is to ask a question which is what the OP did in the first place. You just like to shoot your mouth off to look like the classic Internet Toughguy(tm) and forget everyone starts a newb Roll, even your proof is out there to see if you look hard enough (don't bother looking for mine, this toon is ment to annoy guys like you through Internet AnonymityGuy(tm) and even the highsec mission has only lost mostly cheap frigs and industrials to standard attacks rarely with poor fits...thats what I have learned much quicker from the start then you did Roll)

I think that is one of the best asswoopings I have seen on these forums. Was damn funny too.

I use the small B type I think they are 50mil something like that it was 10 months ago when I bought them. You can use Pithi I just don't know the stats on them. They may be better than Gist I am not sure.

Pithi is better than Gist.

I run a Pithi-B small booster, with dual amplifiers. It works fantastic in every mission, just make sure you blow up webifiers first and keep a reasonable range.

You could do level fours in a tengu with a t1 shield booster.
All you need is speed

3 ballistics
1 overdrive
2 hardeners
2 amplifiers/1amp + target painter/web
1 pithi c-type small boster
1 afterburner (faction)
6 launchers

core defence shield solidifier (shield booster cycle time)
1 ccc
1 calefaction catalyst

This has done all missions with ease and well

use scourge fury for cruiser and up
scourge t1 for everything else, precision is a waste of isk and gimps your speed.
