I made a mistake in which I discovered that my ship was unable to transport 6 items in one go. Because of that I for some reason was able to open the content and transport it in 2 per trip.

Now i'm in Jita with 6 Heron and 1 Plastic Wrap (which those where in).

How can I put them back ? I don't want to make the person mad and it wasn't my intention to do so.

Do I need to repackage the plastic wrap?

Alright I cancelled it. It said that it would have a negative impact on my reputation or something? Where can I see this?

Probably mostly in your wallet as you had to pay the collateral for failing the contract.
Also, others can see your contract history and see you failed a courier contract.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

You could, in theory, get in touch with the contractor and explain to him what you did, perhaps contract him the contents of his courier back for the collateral you paid. Assuming the collateral was equal to or less then the value of the cargo he may accept this, or if it is less than the value you could sell it and profit.

Of course if the collateral was more than the value he's likely to just say "tough luck" and enjoy the money he just made.

You already did, the moment you clicked on the warning box that told you if you open the package you fail the contract. Unless of course there's a hefty penalty built into the collateral, and there usually is. Then it becomes a minor inconvenience.

It's never wise to click through dialog boxes in EVE, or on computers in general.
