I was wondering if anyone got any ideas of some tools / websites that give information on what to produce in hisec/wormhole space. Also is it really worth it to do PI in hisec?

It can be 'worth it' to do PI in hisec if you understand that it's going to severely eat into any profit margin. If you have regular access to a WH with decent planets and good tax rates, that would be a far better option.

There's only a handful of items that are profitable at the P3 stage; beyond that, you're usually talking factory planets to make good isk out of it.

Determining what's going to be profitable with the planets you can find is a matter of market research.

Wife of Pi, still a better love story than twilight.

I run 5 planets in highsec producing p2 pos fuels, which grosses anywhere between 100 and 175 million isk a month depending on how actively I check my planets. Obviously import and export duties eat into that.

You'll find command centre upgrades 3 is a must, 4 is better, to get half decent yield on highsec planets as you'll need the extra power-grid for extractors, or long assed links on gas planets Sad

Have two characters on the same account as this one that do PI for passive income, they have all skills at V for PI and make oxygen in a 6 gas planet system, they net around 300m a month and only require 10 minutes of work every week or so. (Income is a bit higher if you do it daily, and less if you do it bi-weekly.

PI won't make you rich, but if you had 3 characters on an account with maxed PI, you could theoretically pay for a PLEX each month off a almost completely passive income source. However it'd take time and money to setup an account for that.

Ahh, you said 'passive income.' Now CCP Soundwave will jump on it and starts to ramble about how much he dislikes that concept and wants to change it. Sad

Make any of the PI products used in Fuel Block production. Enriched Uranium. Mechanical Parts. Coolant. Robotics......and a little bit of Oxygen.

And do it in Low Sec for about twice as much volume as High Sec. And cheaper tax-wise. Process only up to the P1 level on your planets, leaving a dedicated Factory Planet for P2 and above assembly in High Sec (sometimes you will have to loiter awhile at your Factory POCO).

The GD is very troll infested. Try the Science and Industry subforums.

To answer your question, there are some tutorials on youtube (search for Planetary Interaction Eve).

Your not going to get a straight forward answer to what is the "best" to produced because it depends on :

1) what kindof planets you have to work with, not all systems have all planets
2) whether you have an NPC POCOS or a player owned POCOS and what tax level you are working against
3) how many toons you are willing to dedicate to the task.
4) how much time you are willing to put into updating your extractors and hauling resources to and from the market.

To get good at PI you will definitely need to setup some excel spreadsheets and run some direct numbers using the current Jita prices. Here are some examples of mine

(btw, the setups above were test setups and found not to be the best ways to maximize profits)

Otherwise your probably not going to be maximizing any of your potential profits.

As someone relatively versed on the subject:

1. Hisec yield is a cruel joke by Cthulhu.
2. Lowsec yield is a nice pad on the wallet.
3. Nullsec and Wspace are very profitable.

Define 'doing PI'. In hisec you can't own Customs Offices at all so it's not worth the bother on a corporate level. In lowsec it becomes a game of who can be bothered to shoot CO's providing all the neighbours with a juicy fleet to measure up and kill. This pretty much counts for wspace too, with the nature of wspace (mass limits, local, K162's) on top. The yield there is so godly it's worth owning the POCOs you use yourself, you will reach their ROI very quickly. In nullsec you already own the space and the cost of a gantry is peanuts with those income levels, so it becomes more or less a squabble about who can anchor what and what taxes are set for whom. Your mileage may vary on that last bit, I'm not told what to reinforce but I'm more or less requested what not to reinforce and claim Lol

As for websites, half of it is market data and the other half is looking for the right planets. I can help you with the last part but I can't access by BMs from Eve Gate. Send me a reminder ingame and I'll send you a couple of links.

Yeah so far i`m living in a C4 class wormhole so i decided to do some "PI" with level 2 skills i guess it's better then nothing.. but i`m still struggling to determine what's the best output so i don't pay crazy CO taxes for nothing
