A Corvette in the classical sense of maritime warfare is small fast sloop of war meant to breach enemy blockades, deilver lightning fast attacks on large ships as well as gathering intel and slipping out of enemy waters before being caught.

A Corvettes main role in Eve Online would be to protect Frigates, Destroyers and Cruisers from other Frigates, Destroyers and Cruisers as well as being an interdictory type of ship to engage drones, sentries, fighters and bombers.

Here is the base for the Corvette Class of Ship

Bonus: 10% Tracking per level of ship skill trained, 5% Velocity per level, 10% Missile damage per level, 5% Turret damage per level.

The Corvette is smaller variant of the Interceptor that is meant to support Frigates, Destroyers and Crusiers by defending such ships against other Corvettes and drone class weapon systems.

If such a design was perceived as not warranted as a pilotable ship then it could fit into the role of a Carrier Based weapon system meant to be used to attack enemy carrier fighters and bombers.

I'll bite....what is lacking currently in this area? If a cruiser roam is expecting frigates issues they could bring, you know, frigs or dessies. And if a 10 man frig roam can't pop a cruiser or 2...well they have some major issues to work out but they could bring a cruiser or 2 to counter. Fleet composition....choose it wisely and hope it works. If it doesn't, well, some days you win and some days you lose.


this area you have chosen here already has enough overlap, its doesn't need another layer to put on it as well.

Well at least the carrier is on grid boosting and not hiding lol

Or maybe he rolls in AT prize ships. If I had a freki a carrier dual boxed might be in order lol.

Why not a destroyer hull that can use medium guns? Sorta like smaller T3 BCs?

A Corvette is traditionally smaller than a destroyer or a frigate, and usually slower than both as well. Historically they are usually built as a stop gap in time of war when you need numbers to fill a hole while also building the bigger quality Frigates and Destroyers.

About the only thing I would consider such a ship for would be a role specific anti SB ship, with a role specific ability to burn through ships cloaking modules using say a modified combat probe.
