That is exactly what I mean: quite unpleasant, yes. I think some guys just for fun targetting female photo's...the stupidity of that (had some payback in past, shot one down in his POD him loosing a nice ship...gave me satidfaction realy...next day...A NEW BOUNTY!...s%%%s!

Still not enough to make someone collect. Whereas the newbie local troll I put 5 mil on has been collected on 15 times and still has a fair way to go to clear it Twisted

I read that most (?) agree that bounties are pretty useless if only for the miniscule payouts or the indiscriminate manner in which many have been passed out. Attempting to gauge a game against a RL example you can't just go place a bounty on anyone without a legal proceeding and a finding of guilt, otherwise its called a "hit contact".

When this recent bounty system rolled out, I figured it'd be a short while before it was made trivial due to abuse. I just didn't think it would go this far this fast. But what if ....

What might be a good implementation or modification to this bounty system is only allow a bounty to be placed on someone who has aggressed you in the last say 5 or 7 days after which you forfeit your right to create said bounty. Make the pay out 100% of the bountied amount PLUS the random spoils of the ship destroyed. Make unclaimed bounties expire in a year (or again, some long duration) if someone can last that long. Not sure how I feel about this 2nd, expiration notion though.

IMO, this could really up the ante for payouts making the bounty system worthwhile isk wise, and at the same time alleviating the "Hi, how are you doing .. here a bounty for you. Bye" bounties that we see now every where.

Just a random idea.

Hit contract - that's fine with me. Indeed, I've used the system just so - and every so often, I get a nice note from Concord, letting me know an annoying pustule has been killed once again.

I don't kid myself that I've seriously increased the kill rate, but I do figure the extra ISK in someone's wallet is a nice 'thank you' for offing someone I no longer have to worry about hunting.

And no - It's not gankers that I bounty. It's people whom have annoyed me in other manners.

From where I sit, the system is working just fine.

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

So you don't want people covering your moustash with your wanted sign. But you put 111,111 ISK bounties on me to cover up my tattoo (Well, I have a feeling it was because of something else forums related, but you still covered it up)? Thats not right at all.

I do agree that the placement of the "Wanted" sign could be better...

Instead of covering the face/body it could be placed above the portrait.
Try google "wanted dead or alive" or remember any cowboyfilm you've watched.
The "W A N T E D" was never placed to cover the face as it would make it hard to identify the person.

Maybe in some month we'll have a "KILLRIGHT!" sign in the top third of our portrait and to cover the part in the middle there could be a "WARTARGET!" sign?

Add some "ROOKIE!" or "VETERAN", an "QUAFE" advertisement, a "BURN JITA - I SURVIVED" sticker to cover all of the portrait.

The charakter-creation is really one of the best i've ever seen and it is in fact a waste of ressources to simply hide the portraits under a static sign while it would be very easy to make some extra space outside the portrait.
