The few times ive tried to use it the information was out of date. I just tried looking up some info on the tristan and it lists the drone bay/bandwidth as 5.

Considering the complexity of eve as a game the one thing that should be exceedingly easy for ccp is to keep that info up to date. Do a patch of the game and evelopedia info simultaneously.

Tldr ccp get ur **** together

sadly CCP expect other websites to do this for them.

All my views are my own - never be afraid to post with your main, unless you're going to post some dumb shit

It is very out of date. But the good news is there are lots of friendly people around whom you can ask.

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

It has it's uses.

But for up to date ship info? Use the market browser, and just look up the ship's stats in game.

Also, anything I seriously fly? I try and remember any pertinent info about it. EHP, overall DPS at what optimal, speed with and without prop mods, and any special tricks it might have (ewar, mjd, bombs, etc).

Sounds like a lot to ask, I know. But it gets to be fairly second nature after long enough.

[Edit: Also, super derp. EFT. That stays up to date really well, and it lets you tinker with fits to boot.

Might as well just redirect straight to eve uni wiki.

I wasn't aware anyone actually used the Evelopedia.

I just assumed people posted in GD with any random question that popped into their head.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

I use lots of resources. Lots of downtime at work so use my phone to read the **** out of the game. Evelopedia is linked at the top of this forum so was one click away. Was hoping it would have at least the basic stuff like drone bandwidth for the tristan. Let alone in depth fitting descriptions like uniwiki has

Isn't this one of the things that was left out to die after CCP sacked a bunch of staff?

The really sad thing is they stopped doing Chronicles to work on this. While I can see it seemed a good idea at the time, new chronicles would have stood the test of time better.

I agree with other suggestions. Either give more of the community access to update (the ISD can't keep up) or close all the sections with in game data that can/is get out of date. just leave it as a lore database.

It's being worked on.

They're trying to get the SSO working right with it atm, in a way that doesn't leak information, then they'll update the information on it. Or so I believe a news post was saying.

It does appear behind schedule though.

Guilty as charged

The power to cause pain is the only power that matters, the power to kill and destroy, because if you can't kill then you are always subject to those who can, and nothing and no one will ever save you.

For other MMOs, there were enough players to keep the wiki up to date without the developers having to do anything but host it. When the developers change something in game, players update the wiki.

For Eve Online, CCP decided that large parts of the alleged wiki can't be edited. Those parts are the parts that are out of date. Those are the parts that make me say that EVEleopedia is not a wiki.

The other problem is that the search function is broken. For example, try and find me the search terms that get the Barrage M page in the first page of results.

But CCP can fix this in three easy steps:
1 - Delete this entire wiki.
2 - Get some off the shelf wiki software and create a wiki with it.
3 - Get someone to deal with anyone trying to vandalize the wiki.

Then they can just sit back and watch players fill in all the information. Probably by someone writing a script to pull all the stats from the data files.
