Im a mostly carebear myself but some of them are whiny . A corp mate in a venture had a 1 million bounty put on him because his mining laser was on a rock some guy in Retriever was mining. I returned the favor with a 100 million bounty (money I had won from said corp mate while betting last saturday). The guy felt the need to email me that he was just trying to teach the guy a lesson. Like 1 million is gonna make anyone even notice. Just today I was flying my Noctics on the way somewhere and I got bountied myself for 1 million isk because I quote "stole his salvage" . Trying to decide if this guy is worth 100 million in retaliation.

Ive always felt that if its not in your station container its not really yours. Or parked inside the POS shield for my WH friends.

Oh on a side note does the winner of an actual duel get to collect on any bounties?

Bounties are either too small to be worth paying attention to, or so large the bounty-er is better off just holding on to the large sum of ISK. I only bounty in jest, really. There are much better ways to see someone learns a lesson.

Didn't think it would. Just that it wasn't my hard earned isk I was blowing.

Though mine did make the guy who owns the alt that got the mining bounty to start thinking about crawling out of his WH for a suicide gank.

Totally worth it, now advertise the bounty to your local gankers and watch them come running like you just rang the dinner bell Twisted

For even more fun, put another 100 mil on him and tell him you did it because he complained about it. Make sure to repost his tears here for all to see Big smile

Bounties do not work well.

Put a bounty on a suicide ganker and when CONCORD kills the ganker will CONCORD claim the bounty but passes it on to the victim. As if the victim had killed the ganker. One needs to wonder why victims deserve a reward.

And multiple gankers can aggro each other before CONCORD arrives and thereby claim a part of the bounty for themselves. Surely not what many had in mind when they placed the bounty.

This leaves only two practical use cases for bounties. One either puts a bounty on an enemy before a war, thereby paying one's own pilots a bonus and hoping to increase the fleet participation, or to scare a noob with it.

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

Even 5 mil does. I put that on an annoying player trolling in local and was getting bounty mail for weeks from his cheap ships.

Though bounties are rather pointless, as everyone has them and they don't just apply to those with low security standings, you should be warned. I myself used bounties against people that had wronged me in the past, and it only takes one super-rich player to respond with an insane 5billion bounty to screw you over.

Overall, bounties are worthless, just an additional bit of isk for anyone that happens to randomly kill you. Boils down to bragging rights.

Post with your main, like a BOSS!

And no, i don't live in highsec.  As if that would make your opinion any less wrong.

You are a punk for putting bounties on people.

What do you think you are some kinda rich guy that can pick on the less fortunate players?

Shame on you, I hate it when people bounty for no reason should make the entire mechanic just go away IMO.

You shouldn't advertise the CFC POS shield password like that.......now everyone will know.........

Bounties are just another way of increasing player interaction, they seem to cause emotions, and in the end if not that much increase PVP, at least reward it.

Not a game changer, but a nice addition to EVE.

Yes, if you destroy a ship flown by someone with a bounty, you'll be paid 20% of the ship's worth(including its fitting), or in case of the bounty being lower than that, you'll receive the entire bounty.

No, but you get to have an evil laugh every single time you are notified that they got asploded.

This

The only issue with bounties is the stupid low amounts you can start with, CCP should change this for a minimum 100M isk

Tired of killing ships for a poor 200k Isk at best.

CCP changed the status of the bounty mechanics from being "a failure" to "rudimentary functional" and then sold it to us like an energy drink.
