Currently in Labour is the Princess, haven't been religiously following it but I'm reckoning there's a good chance the kid will be my Queen/King someday.

Though Harry would be my personal choice for King Cool

Honestly the queen has been better bang for buck than any other world leader.

Loyalty is earnt not given. I am an ardent monarchist though.

Should be interesting to see what we get.

Girl would be good, imo our best rulers have been queens. If we get Vicky 2.0 we shall conquer space.... ALL of it. Pirate

You know that the tax spongers are the inverse 3 times over right?

Hence why I would pick Harry, front line action and deception to get himself deployed and in the thick of it. Till the press got wind of it of course, we wouldn't have known and he would be in combat, can't remember the last royal to be in actual combat to be frank.

Prince Andrew faced enemy fire in the Falklands.

Prince Philip saw lots of action in WW2.

King George the VI saw action in WW1.

Its not unusual.

I stand corrected. Oops

I had been under the impression they were in uniform, but not in any real danger.

Spoilsport, its harmless fun.

And in 30 years, could be a kid staring at future King Willian wishing he'd get on with it and let him stop being Prince of Wales for decades Twisted

The True Cost of the Royal Family Explained .

Watch that, then tell me if you still think they are tax sponges.

As for loyalty towards the crown, does the royal family have any political power ?

She is still head of the military and I think she still has the power to disolve parliment and the right to take any land in the nation. If the government did something truely bad she might speak out and chances are the nation would back her up. But that would need a very special kind of **** up.

Bah!

Olly Cromwell, and the French, had the right idea.

The British Monarchy is a representation of everything that is outdated, old fashioned and just plain obsolete with the UK.

I am not a total anti-monarchist, but I do believe we should go for a very much slimmed down and more in tune with the 21 centaury monarch. Something along the lines of the Dutch, Danish, or Norwegian models of monarchy.

May need to correct that. Current media coverage negates that idea utterly.

How could it be more tones down? Seriously they do bugger all, its the media that slaps them everywhere, not Buckingham.

A lot of what is appealing about our monarchy is the history that goes with it, it's the oldest existing constitutional monarchy in the world, dating back to around 1689. The tradition, pomp and circumstance that all that history brings attracts load of tourists, and their money into the UK.

The idea of a monarchy might seem outdated, but the image that the royal family project of the UK around the world is good for business.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Could you tell us more about their systems ?
