its a freeking stutterfest even at 480
tell your partner to pull their heads out of their buttes and try to make your annual event count for something

and while I'm at it the commercials are 75% higher in volume than the audio stream

how many years does it take to get the technical aspects down?
I've been in broadcast and entertainment for 30 years, it isn't that hard to get right

I've been having no trouble running on 1080p.

Try the popout option.
Twitch's in-window flash code must be horrible, I was lagging there even at lowres before I switched to highres-popout.

I have no problem watching it at highest quality on my 5 year old laptop.

Also, popout isn't the same as fullscreen.

First use popout, which makes a pure flash-window for the stream, then go fullscreen if you want.

full screen for me automatically pops out flash player already

stream got better, but the audio issue still exists

and yeah, i did check my local connection for issues, I wasnt seeing any other streaming issues, but yeah, it could always be a routing issue, but it seems that theres always something every year

Lots of stuttering here as well. Was fine at 1080p a couple hours ago, now it's choking at lower rates. Not worth watching if this is the performance that can be expected through the weekend.

Try beta.twitch.tv/ccp and/or reconnecting/swapping bitrate a bit - seems twitch has some issues with one of its servers or something - was getting lots of stutter last couple of nights trying to watch mad_ani's stream but after reconnecting a bit eventually managed to get it smooth - AT stream is fine for me at the moment.

I could only watch it on 480 without the slideshow and it wasn't due to my hand delivered packet internet in Dropbear Kanga land.

I've tried the popout - it's still unwatchable.

I'm gutted - I was really looking forward to this, and the technical f***ups have ruined it.

Please tell me the matches will be re-broadcast on youtube? I'll have to try and avoid hearing about the results till then.....

The live stream is recorded and available on CCP's twitch account - as twitch's VOD system is a bit meh you will probably have to start it running, pause the video and go away do something for awhile to let it buffer a large part of the video before playing.

Despite being mostly smooth yesterday other than a little bit at the end today I can't get streaming smoothly at all - I have a handful of different devices including PCs, tablets and a smartphone capable of streaming twitch and for internet connections 80/20 Fiber (no limits, only P2P traffic management), 24MB ADSL2 (no limits, no traffic management) and HSDPA from O2 and Vodafone so I'm pretty confident its not on my end.

no you can't!
only acceptable solution for me is download it to my hard drive

and in future i'll avoid twitch services if possible

? it pre-loads the video for me if paused and its the only way to get VODs to play smooth on any of my setups.

I should amend that to its the only way to get VODs from twitch to work smoothly on my setups, VODs from anywhere else work fine.
