Jumping through gates

These new gate effects have got to go! When an iteron v can jump a gate and warp before I can jump it and tackle on the other side thats an issue. I have lost countless industrial and battlecruiser kills due to this new feature and as Eve goes your kill board is your resume.

Every gate no matter how far I land I have to approach it, then on my screen a message that says "Please Wait" then another message "Session change in progress", then the tunnel effect, its just wasted time.

Bring back the old style gates where you could lock them to get in systems that were over populated quicker then those just pushing the jump button.

It used to do the exact same thing but it took even longer; I don't know what you're on about. You actually leave the tunnel as soon as you load in.

I like the new gate animation. I'm fine with the option to disable it, though.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

I agree.

I just think the OP is bad at the game tbh. The gate effect is just bearing the brunt of his frustration at this fact.

The new jump effect is just a visual effect which plays while your ships is being removed from the current world space and loaded in to the next world space. The length of time is unchanged from before and is variable based on whether or not you are transitioning server clusters and your internet latency, just as it has always been Your 60s of stealth on arrival is still the same 60s of stealth you had before, which was a change to level the playing field and to counter arriving in then next system as a POD because the local players could blow your ship up before your client could load the new world space after a jump.

If you are chasing a big ass slow ship from system to system and they are able to align and warp before you get there then your internet or client is likely just slower then theirs, you were unlucky. As far as I know the actual time did not change. Personally I do not get a please wait or session change timer, and It generally takes me 3-4 seconds from the time I land to when I load in to the new world space and can start aligning for the next warp.

As it is just a visual effect to watch while the system to system transition is processed I see no need to remove it from the game but am fine with the option to disable it, like any other visual effect for slower systems.
