I chose amarr ships as my pvp race of choice. And I have been trying to get help fitting a ship for pvp. And it seems like thr most common answer is fly gallente or minmatar instead. I have come to love amarr ships. So any help fitting a ship for pvp woud be appreciated. I am mainly looking to fly frigs for a month or 2. The 2 figates im interested in are the punisher and tormentor. So.any fits and tips in fly thise would be apprexiated.

For the Tormentor, sell it and buy a Tristan. The Punisher is a good choice also because you can sell it and have enough ISK for a Breacher easy. Hope this helps! Big smile

Amarr are weak on both T1 and T2 frigates, except for the Khanid T2 Frigates (Vengeance, Malediction)

Amarr cruisers are good ships, both T1 and T2.

Anything Amarr that is BC sized or bigger just rocks.

Tormentor is decent
Executioner is usable
Punisher is garbage

Coercer and dragoon are good

Omen and maller are garbage though.

If you are not flying alone. Look into Crucifier or Inquicitor. Those two are good support ships.

For solo pvp. T1 amar frigates what I had wound usefull is Tormentor and navy slicer. Other than that you are out of luck. In T2 frigates there is some good choices like the Vengeance and malediction but amarr ships shines in crruisers and battleships.

In cruisers, lays one of the most effective armor logi Augoror, not to mention Omen or Arbitrator. In battleship department Armageddons neut and Apoc´s tracking are deadly.

Don´t shy away from amarr ships, there is plenty cool ships behind that race for PVP.

The Tormentor and the Executioner make good scram range kiters. The Executioner has it a bit easier in that aspect because it trades the Tormentor's tank for speed. The Tormentor can brawl much better than the Executioner thanks to its bigger tank (200mm plate + rep is nice) and has 2 token drones. As Garviel said, the Punisher is pretty trash. It has no range dictation and has poor DPS. It is only good as a ship to fly as an FC in faction warfare in a plex fight, as Punishers will rarely be primaried.

The Coercer is very strong at devouring frigates, and the Dragoon is good too, if not a little niche. The Algos is a better choice for drone destroyers.

The Maller is essentially a beefed up Punisher in a cruiser package. Big tank, ok DPS, and slow as a brick. Once again a fantastic ship to FC from. The Omen is a poor fleet ship because it has too little power grid to fit a sufficient tank and its guns. It is far better suited as a solo ship, in a kiting role. Even in that aspect, however, it is far overshadowed by the Omen Navy Issue, which recieves an optimal range bonus.

Amarr have some very strong fleet BCs. The Prophecy makes a great neut boat and is once again a great FC ship. The Oracle is great for kiting ABC (attack Battlecruiser) gangs, as it can project DPS out past 50km reliably with Scorch. The Harbinger is very "meh" at the moment. In the armour variation it lacks speed and is very cookie cutter fit. It is far better suited as a shield kiter in a solo or small gang environment. Even then, it is slow and sucks capacitor.

Amarr battleships are awesome. Hands down the best large fleet ships out there. The Abaddon can field a massive tank and pump out awesome DPS. The Armageddon is a fantastic anti-support ships with its 36km neuts and swarms of drones. The Apocalypse is great for semi-kiting battleship fleets where projection is needed.

Hope this helped, I know you just asked for frigates but I just kept writing.

Pretty much this. It can shut down any other ship Dessy class and down in under a minute. A typical fit in a lowsec faction warfare environment would look something like this:

Dragoon: Nomnomnom Capacitor

Highs:
Small Unstable Power Fluctuator I (x3)
125mm Gatling Autocannon II (x3)

Mids:
1mn Afterburner II (this can be swapped for a cap booster or web if you so desire)
J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler I

Lows:
Damage Control II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
400mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I

Drones:
Hobgoblin II (x15)
You can also use Warrior II's as well. All up to preference.

Rigs:
There are again personal preference. You can fit capacitor rigs so you can neut for longer periods of time, or you can fit tanking rigs to absorb more damage. Or a mix of both (not recommended, as you should specialize in one or the other)

Edit: if you really want to travel down the capacitor warfare path (neutralizers and vampires), definitely check out the Amarr Recon ships lineup, and to a lesser extent their Electronic Attack Ship, the Sentinal. They have two great boats that specialize in capacitor warfare, tracking disruption, and drones. A typical progression for the whole neuting lineup would be something like this:

Dragoon > Arbitrator > Prophecy > Sentinal > Curse/Pilgrim > Armageddon > Bhaalgorn (the ultimate in capacitor warfare, a Blood Raiders faction Battleship)

Fly amarr properly!

Punisher: Fit an AB and web in the mids (scrams are for pussies) Put out 200 dps with your lasers and melt them before they realise what happens!

Scram kite the crap out of everything in executioners

And do both in the tormentor. Tormy is a beast now. Faster than the incursus, Almost as tanky as the punisher and can brawl or scramkite in an instant with a simple crystal swap out.

A lot of people forget the flexibility that lasers have in being able to instantly swap out the crystals to define their optimal range. What does this mean practically? Well very few ships can actually achieve the DPS that they are shown on EFT. But amarr are one of the sets of ships as the majority of the time you are fighting in optimal.

In all honesty there is no race that is better than the other now for small/medium ship combat. They are all pretty comparable in their field of combat but still have their own flavour.

Don't rely on the naysayers around how bad amarr are at pvp it's a load of shite!

If you like amarr, fly amarr and learn how the ships work.

For reference I can fly all races to spec 5 for frigs/dessy/cruisers but I mainly fly Amarr and Minnie (the two races that are getting slammed the most nowadays on the forums) Twisted - Oh and I'm crap at pvp btw.

Hmm Retribution with the optimal bonus and scorch is pretty hard to kite.

From what I understand, Amarr ships are a little underwhelming in the smaller ship classes (there are some very stark exceptions to this rule, however), but get progressively better as you ascend the ship classes. They have, to my understanding, some of the best, and most useful capital ships in the game.

You might have a bit of a long start, but once you get going on battleships and larger, you are in for some amazing experiences indeed.

20k ehp means you cant fit largest guns and it's VERY easy to kite with a LML ship.

Then the retri moves into scram and brawls and still kills most things Twisted

do people posting here even pvp ? ( please note i read the first few posts and got angry and posted this , to others that corrected them already, sorry )

Amarr ships are awesome. there's people here complaining about tracking? maybe they should train t2 and see the beauty of scorch.

Then there's people bringing up TD?? Amarr is the god damn TD, we have the bonuses, and the ships to apply them with max results.

I can tell you with fact there's more cruicifier's in low sec then other t1 ewar ships.

Frigates :

crucifier ~ Ewar ~ Can shut down any gun boat with ease.

Executioner ~ not a bad starting kite ship / but is outclassed by other options.

Punisher ~ lots of tank ~ great for learning pvp as you last longer then most frigs which allows you to reflect back on the fight & learn from it

Tormentor ~ Huge DPS for a frigate.

Navy slicer ~ one of the best interceptors in game.

inquisitor ~ logistics ~ MUCH better then the naviatus as its alot easy to make it almost jam proof.

Destroyers ~ coercer ~ huge gank, range, tracking and dps

Dragoon ~ neuting drone boat, a mini recon ship.

then you have combat cruisers :

The arbitrator : low DPS but has a number of resources to make your enemy curl up and die in frustration.

omen : can be a great sniper, but using pulses & scorch the tracking is insane.

maller : pure brute brawler, lots of tank, adequate tank.
